Job Summary:
At EquipmentShare, we are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Operations – Mobile Communications to lead and scale our radio communications team. This role requires a unique blend of operational leadership, technical expertise in Mobile Communications systems, and strong business acumen—particularly in sales, engineering and service delivery.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with hands-on experience in two-way RF radio technologies, capable of driving both technical excellence and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the radio communications team.
- Implement a mobile power solution using Starlink to ensure continuous radio operation in remote locations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Motorola MotoTurbo systems, including Capacity Plus, Capacity Max, and legacy systems.
- Diagnose and repair UHF, VHF, and 800-900 MHz radio systems.
- Utilize Motorola Systems Analyzer and service monitors for system calibration and diagnostics.
- Lead and support the delivery of CAT (Communications and Technology) radio classes to generate revenue.
- Develop and program radios and repeaters to meet specific operational requirements.
- Program radios and repeaters to customer-specific frequencies and configurations.
- Provide site support and on-site technical solutions for new and existing radio system projects.
- Prepare and deliver detailed quotes for radio equipment and services to internal and external customers, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and equipment specifications
- Collaborate with the sales team to drive revenue and identify new business opportunities within the construction sector.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and technical support.
- Manage a team of technicians and coordinate resources for project success.
- Identify and coordinate with third-party providers to support specialized operational needs.
- Collaborate with the IT team on systems management, including Starlink setup and configuration.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in sales and operations management, preferably in the communications or construction industry.
- Strong technical background in Motorola two-way radio systems, wifi services. (Starlink)
- Hands-on experience with MotoTurbo, Capacity Plus, Capacity Max, and legacy radio infrastructure.
- Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing radios and systems, with expertise in using Motorola System Analyzers and Service Monitors.
- Working knowledge of programming software for radios and repeaters.
- Ability to provide technical site support and implement custom radio solutions.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel required across the country to support operations and project implementation.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card
Skills & Qualifications:
- Certification or training in Motorola radio systems.
- Experience delivering training or educational programs in radio communications.
- Understanding of OSHA and safety practices relevant to site work in construction.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
