What you’ll be doing:
As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the operational performance of our network of print service providers across Europe, Middle East & Africa, Oceania and Asia. You will lead a small, distributed team across Europe accountable for our KPIs in speed, quality, selection and cost. Your leadership will be crucial in scaling operations efficiently while maintaining sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
This role requires someone who thrives in a scale-up environment, understanding the complexities of rapid expansion and global operations. You will play a key role in growing GelatoConnect, ensuring our production network expands strategically while continuously improving partner relationships and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scaling GelatoConnect – Drive adoption and expansion of GelatoConnect by strengthening and cultivating partner relationships.
- Operational Strategy & Execution – Develop and implement operational strategies that align with Gelato’s growth trajectory, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
- Supply Chain & Partner Management – Oversee our network of production partners, driving performance, ensuring quality compliance, optimizing supply chain operations, advocating for change and navigating complex relationships.
- Advocacy & Change Management – Act as a champion for GelatoConnect, demonstrating how the platform improves efficiency, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Process Optimization & Data-Driven Decision Making – Use analytics to identify opportunities for operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Bridging Operational Gaps – Identify and address inefficiencies, drive project management initiatives, and enhance cross-functional collaboration.
- Cross-Functional Leadership – Work closely with technology, product, category management and customer service teams to deliver on company OKRs.
- Team Development & Leadership Growth – Build and mentor the next layer of leadership within the operations team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Who you are:
We are looking for an experienced operational leader who understands how to scale a complex, high-growth organization. The ideal candidate will balance structured operational execution with a startup mindset, thriving in ambiguity while pushing projects forward with grit and strategic focus.
- 8+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or a related field, preferably in e-commerce, manufacturing, or technology-driven industries.
- Proven ability to scale global operations, manage supply chains, and navigate organizational complexity.
- A data-driven mindset, leveraging analytics to optimize workflows and drive efficiency.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to execute strategically while managing day-to-day operational challenges.
- A customer-obsessed approach, ensuring operational decisions enhance the end-user experience.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to develop and mentor teams, advocate for operational improvements, and escalate challenges when necessary.
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments, with the ability to push initiatives forward while knowing when to ask for support.
