About the role:

 Director, Compliance Counsel is responsible for conducting internal investigations into violations of Gartner’s Code of Conduct and policies, supporting Gartner’s compliance programs globally, including but not limited to ethics, conflicts of interest, and code of conduct.  

This role reports to the Group Vice President, Chief Compliance Counsel.  

What you'll do:

  • Help develop, maintain and share, as appropriate, knowledge and expertise of global legal and regulatory compliance industry trends and best practices with Legal and Compliance peers and internal business leaders.  
  • Help support the maintenance and enhancement of Gartner’s Compliance program consistent with the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines and DOJ Guidance.  
  • Help oversee the development and delivery of training on relevant compliance topics.  
  • Interact with government authorities as required.  
  • Lead, manage and contribute to audits, inspections, internal investigations and litigations.  
  • Help ensure conformity with various Gartner policies, including but not limited to the Gartner Code of Conduct and Conflicts of Interest Policy.  
  • Ability to make and defend frequent judgment calls and to "think outside the box," yet remain agile when appropriate to ensure successful partnerships throughout Gartner. 
  • Knowledge of anti-bribery, trade sanctions, money laundering, antitrust, false claims act a plus. 

What you'll need:

  • At least 7years’ experience and subject matter expertise in corporate compliance, either in-house or within a law firm.   Prior litigation experience is a plus.    
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to marry subject matter expertise with data to make high-quality decisions and prioritize.  
  • High-caliber executive presence, with the ability to influence and gain consensus across a broad range of internal partners and stakeholders.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn, adapt, evolve and grow.   
  • Understanding and appreciation of cultural nuances and ability to operate effectively in global environments.  
  • Unquestionable ethics and excellent judgment.  
  • JD required with active bar membership in good standing.  
  • Must hold valid passport with no travel restrictions.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 134,000 USD - 185,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
