Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and personable Director of Human Resources who will serve as an effective business partner with a passion for fostering positive employee relations, managing performance, and driving effective HR strategies in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will oversee HR operations with a strong focus on employee relations and resolutions, performance management, onboarding and offboarding, and relationship-building across the organization. Prior experience in the cruise line or travel industry, luxury retail, or Hospitality is preferred, and a background in call center sales is a plus but not required.

As a hands-on leader, you will be directly involved in communicating HR policies, providing coaching to managers, and ensuring an inclusive, engaging, and productive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, providing expert support to employees and management fairly and consistently.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring timely, confidential, and equitable resolution of employee concerns.
  • Develop policies and processes that foster an inclusive, respectful workplace environment aligned with the organization’s culture and values.
  • Drive the performance management process to promote a high-performance culture, overseeing performance reviews, coaching managers, and providing feedback mechanisms.
  • Support management with strategies and best practices for improving individual and team performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding strategies that create positive first and last impressions, ensuring seamless transitions for new hires and departing employees.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop comprehensive onboarding programs tailored to each department and role.
  • Oversee exit interviews, analyze turnover trends, and provide recommendations to enhance retention and engagement.
  • Manage Stay and Exit Interview initiatives.
  • Manage unemployment and workers' compensation claims and investigations.
  • Play a key role in the Culture Committee and Recognition programs, including leading company orientation sessions and overseeing the Memory Maker Recognition program.
  • Foster a positive work environment, manage risk, and serve as an advocate for our Ladies and Gentlemen.
  • Serve as a functional expert in all HR-related matters, guiding best practices and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization to enhance communication, engagement, and collaboration.
  • Develop trust with employees at all levels, creating an approachable, accessible HR presence that reflects our commitment to support and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred)
  • 7+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, and onboarding/offboarding strategy
  • Experience in the cruise line, travel industry, or call center sales environment is a plus
  • Proven problem solver with the ability to handle complex issues with professionalism and empathy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building relationships and fostering trust across diverse teams
  • Hands-on, adaptable leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day HR operations
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and relevant labor laws to ensure compliance and mitigate risk

Designed to combine the luxury lifestyle of The Ritz-Carlton® and the casual freedom of a yachting vacation, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will offer voyages on three custom-built yachts. Calling on unique and distinguished destinations alike, most voyages range from seven to ten nights, offering many overnight calls and uniquely curated experiences ashore. Each yacht will feature 149 suites, each with its own private terrace, and accommodate up to 298 guests in a relaxed, casually elegant atmosphere. As with The Ritz-Carlton® on land, each yacht will feature personalized service, elevated dining and luxury amenities. The yachts are also available for private charter.
