Position Summary

We are hiring an inspirational Director, Human Resources for our growing LATAM region with employees based in Brazil as well as Mexico.  This individual will provide HR leadership and in a highly matrixed structure, with the HR Business Partner, HR Operations, and Talent Acquisition teams in the implementation and administration of HR programs and procedures while working in partnership with the local business leaders to deliver solutions that support business needs. With proven success, this role will also contribute to Global HR program design and administration.  Position reports directly to the VP, Global Human Resources Business Partners based in the US.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering:  Establish and maintain strong collaborative business partner relationships with leaders and colleagues across the organization, and through these partnerships, deliver business driven HR solutions that support regional and global needs, including preparing leadership for changes and scaling for growth in the region.
  • Strategic Partner:  In alignment with the business strategy, prepares a talent strategy help leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes for continued growth in the region.  Examples include organizational/team structuring, talent development, coaching, workforce planning, rewards and recognition. 
  • Compensation and Rewards: Work with the Total Rewards team on scoping roles, building career ladders, and advising on salary recommendations, bonuses, country specific benefits, etc.
  • Talent Management and Workforce Planning: working with leaders on organizational design, job descriptions, priorities of talent related roles, as well as performance management/goal setting.
  • Analytics: Use data and people metrics to analyze and shape people strategy. Will prepare dashboards of relevant data, share the data and story behind the data regularly with leaders in order to take actions.
  • Employee Engagement: Contribute toward creating HR programs that strengthen the employee experience through interaction with managers, systems and processes and that act as a retention tool.  Work on local/departmental programs and where possible leverage engagement survey results to communicate, take actions and hold leaders accountable for making changes. May include support of global recognition programs or other activities.
  • Leader Development: Leadership development that builds competence and supports organizational growth.  Partner with global L&D to prioritize content, facilitate delivery of programs (training, 360s, etc.), follow up with leaders as needed to ensure actions are taken and behavioral changes are made to continuously improve our leadership capability. 
  • Employee Relations: With the local HR team, influence, coach and provide expert advice to Managers on complex people and change issues. Will often work with people managers on performance improvement conversations and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) documents as well as terminations or position eliminations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of People practices to maximize efficiency and outcomes.  This includes pulling cross functional teams from the regions and/or corporate to define roles and responsibilities as well as approvals, tools and systems to streamline.
  • Leadership Responsibilities: Lead, manage and develop the regional human resources team to inspire and deliver optimum human resources services and monitor effectiveness.
  • Compliance: Comply with Rimini Street’s company policies and procedures, including the annual PPR. Responsible for maintaining local/regional handbooks which follow local regulations and align with global standards where possible. May need to provide communication or training for managers and employees to ensure they are understood.
  • Global HR leadership: May also have a lead role in building new (or improving existing) HR programs and initiatives. This would include scoping the work, ensuring appropriate input from functional and local HR teams, COEs and business leaders. In addition, would be leading the project with a virtual team, following through to achieve pre-defined goals including change management and communication globally.
  • Perform other duties as required including participation on committees and special projects.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • GPHR, SPHR, PHR and/or SHRM certification, strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years HR leadership experience with demonstrated followership and success across all HR disciplinesHR Business Partner, HR Operations, and Talent Acquisition – policies, programs, talent acquisition, benefits, employee relations and employee matters in a work environment with a global footprint.
  • Proven HR professional with a passion and track record of being a true business partner, who will help create world class, scalable processes and programs, and help drive an excellent employee environment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR to the benefit of the overall business.
  • Ability to manage the HR and organizational complexities required to buildout/grow the company in the region, in partnership with business leaders.
  • Ability to position self as credible through use of data and analytics (garners respect, acts with integrity, keeps commitments); proactive (has a point of view, challenges assumptions, takes initiative); and a trusted thought-partner (builds relationships, delivers results).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive major initiatives through the organization and influence decision makers at all levels.
  • Proven experience in working with operating group management teams and company senior leadership in developing solid business partnerships.
  • Proven experience in establishing HR related services in new and growing locations.
  • Record of accomplishment of providing outstanding and unparalleled customer service.
  • Strong understanding of local employment regulations and cultural impact; strong business acumen.
  • Strong preference for global HR experience for US-based corporation.
