ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Director of Hospitality Market Analytics to join our growing analytics organization. The selected candidate will be CoStar Group’s subject matter expert on hospitality trends across the Northeast & Midwestern United States with responsibility for providing analytic content (listed below) focused on these regions. The Director will play a key role as a client and industry-facing representative of CoStar and be responsible for delivering CoStar’s view of the market and the outlook.

The position will be based out of one of CoStar’s major office locations in the Eastern and Midwestern US. New York City and Chicago would be the preferred locations, though other possible office locations include Boston, MA, Cleveland, OH, Philadelphia, PA, and Washington, DC/Arlington, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce meaningful, relevant, and insightful analysis of Hospitality market conditions for inclusion in CoStar’s product offering

  • Responsible for analyzing market data and drawing insightful conclusions by utilizing all the data available at CoStar and STR to uncover trends, patterns and other insights of interest to the Hospitality industry

  • Maintain well-written and timely market and submarket reports on the Hospitality industry

  • Deliver frequent in-person market updates to CoStar clients and industry groups, focusing on the Hospitality industry and economic trends and themes across the Northeast and the Midwest

  • Speak to the local press about Hospitality trends

  • Write Hospitality-related articles for CoStar’s news platform summarizing key trends and performance themes that are of interest to the Hospitality industry

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

  • 8+ years of work experience in the Hospitality industry

  • 2+ years of experience providing data insights and analysis within the Hospitality industry

  • Willingness to travel to the main relevant markets for in-person presentations to clients

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated writing skills and ability to write effectively in large volumes

  • Strong data and analysis skills, including Excel and. Proven ability to formulate and test hypotheses about trends in the market

  • Expert MS Office Skills

  • Polished presentation and communication skills. Comfortable talking and presenting to others, often to large groups of industry practitioners

  • Strong work ethic, self-starter and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment

  • Client orientation, a desire to help clients succeed

We welcome all qualified candidates who are currently eligible to work full-time in the United States to apply. However, please note that CoStar Group is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position. This position offers a base salary range of $161,000 - $217,000, based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous bonus and benefits plan.
