SMX is seeking a Director of Strategy & Growth, with experience successfully selling Oracle Core Tech solutions to Federal customers. This position will report into SMX’s Enterprise Systems & Solutions (ESS) Division, and partner with ESS business leaders, SMX Growth organization (BD and Capture), in pursuit of organic program growth and net new opportunities across the Federal market.
The candidate will be responsible for the ESS Strategy to drive and execute Federal growth and will have an emphasis on core-tech pursuits. Successful candidate will demonstrate deep experience in core technology solution sales and will be capable of having technical strategy discussions with both internal stakeholders and clients. Deep Federal market expertise and knowledge of trends, spending patterns, and acquisition strategies is required. This role will also be responsible for pipeline hygiene in partnership with business leaders and project/program management. The ideal candidate must be able to leverage a deep mission understanding of customers’ needs and objectives. This role is a unique opportunity to spearhead growth in a hands-on sales leadership capacity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
This role is responsible for developing and executing a core tech growth strategy for SMX’s ESS business: market analysis, solution development, developing sales toolkits – presentations, internal sales enablement training, sales collateral creation. You will have ownership of growth objectives for the Business Unit.
You will perform market analysis, strategic business planning, capture strategy/solution development, customer engagement and support proposal responses. This position will include oversight of customer contact and positioning; management of an opportunity pipeline, forecasting, and capture management; teaming interactions; and coordination with other internal business development, program management, solution architecture, and growth resources available across the company in the development of winning proposals.
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance required: Top Secret
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience in the Federal Enterprise Solution Marketplace
- Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) selling or supporting Oracle Core Tech solutions for the Federal mission; Working knowledge of missions, cultures, organizational components, leadership, major programs, challenges, and buying trends
- Track record of solution selling and winning >$10M multi-year new business RFPs
- Established relationships with target accounts clients, stakeholders, and influencers, with demonstrated ability to develop and foster new relationships
- Experience interacting with and briefing senior government and industry acquisition officials
- Understanding the full business development lifecycle and has been successful in various customer domains within the federal markets
- Proactive, organized, and highly skilled professional
- Experience with contributing to proposals and the RFI, RFQ, or RFP process
- In-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape and existing contracts within the target accounts Market Place
- Strong communication and presentation skills, while maintaining a positive attitude, strong drive for results
- Collaborative and proactive work across SMX to achieve broader company growth objectives while maintaining connectivity to the program/contract executing managers
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
Desired Skills & Experience
- Additional knowledge and experience with adjacent capabilities in the areas of Enterprise IT; Cyber Operations, ITSM and Managed Services; Data Center, Cloud and Cloud Migration; Data Transport and Systems Integration; Application Development and Modernization; Big Data and Data Analytics is a plus
- Knowledge or experience with On-Prem and/or cloud ERP products such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, Salesforce is a plus

The proposed salary for this position is:
$210,000—$315,000 USD
