Director – Global SensoryLOCATION: Bridgewater, NJ REPORTS TO: Vice President – Molecular Discovery and Measurement SciencesIngredion is seeking a Director of Global Sensory to lead and innovate our Global Sensory function, driving growth through expert Sensory and Sensory Insights. In this role, you'll develop and implement our Global Sensory strategy, working collaboratively with global technical teams, marketing, and Sensory insights to establish a sustainable competitive edge in the market. You'll also provide functional leadership to regional technical teams and sensory scientists. The Director of Global Sensory will oversee Ingredion’s Global Sensory program, fostering a cohesive global community of Sensory experts.Core Responsibilities:Global Sensory Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive Global Sensory strategy to showcase Ingredion’s capabilities and create customer value. Adapt key strategic elements and align with our Sensory Insights function to drive business growth. Leadership and Vision: Provide strong leadership to regional technical teams, Global Applications, Culinology, and R&D functions, enhancing sensory science knowledge organization-wide.  Provide strong functional leadership and guidance to all global and regional Sensory functions.   Sensory Model Evolution: Advance our Global Sensory function and model and thought leadership to integrate and embed Sensory Insights and consumer preferences, aligning with our Texture Elevation and Playing to Win strategies. Be viewed by customers as the go-to provider for Texture and Healthful solutions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global marketing and Sensory Insights functions to leverage and grow capabilities and drive growth.Network Building: Establish a global community of Sensory expertise through an interconnected network of employees across all functions. Continue to build the Sensory function and capabilities and expand our Subject Matter Expertise.Data Utilization: Analyze, evaluate, leverage and communicate sensory and consumer insights data to align with our Global Sensory strategy.Product Innovation: Support the commercialization of New Product Innovation program, especially in the areas of Texture & Healthful (Protein Fortification & Sugar Reduction) solutions. The Director, Global Sensory position is well suited for you if you:

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Advanced degree in Sensory Science, Food Science, or related field and deep expertise in Sensory Science including experience leading enterprise-wide team and initiatives.
  • Experience and an understanding of Sensory Insights, linked to consumer liking and has utilized Sensory and Consumer insights to achieve organizational business and strategic objectives. 
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and empower team leaders and talented technical professionals.
  • Experience with ingredient manufacturers or consumer goods; knowledge of starches, hydrocolloids, and sweeteners is a plus.
  • Direct Consumer Products Company experience a plus
  • Demonstrated project management skills to manage, prioritize and provide direction on key projects and initiatives. 
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills.  Ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization. 
  • Travel up to 20% required

Pay Range:

$175,200.00-$233,600.00 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
