Stratas Foods LLC is the leading supplier of fats and oils to the Foodservice, Food Ingredients and Retail Private Label markets in North America and is a producer of quality bulk and packaged dressings, mayonnaise and sauces. Stratas Foods was formed in October 2008 as a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies (ACH) and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM).

Job Description

Reporting to the CFO, the Director is responsible for the gathering, preparing and analyzing key financial and operational data for both executive and managerial level staff.  Analysis covers all sales, operational and administrative revenues and expenses.  Responsible for implementing analysis using the latest available tools, such as AI and other data analytics tools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of financial analysts, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  2. Performance Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management, including variance analysis, key metrics, and actionable insights.
  3. Business Partnering: Work closely with different departments (sales, operations, marketing) to understand their business drivers and provide financial support for decision-making
  4. Financial Modeling: Create and maintain complex financial models to project future performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, considering various scenarios and market conditions
  5. Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights to inform strategic decisions.
  6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budget process, develop detailed forecasts, and regularly monitor performance against budget to identify variances and potential risks.
  7. Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to optimize expenses across the organization
  8. Personal Improvement:  Enhance current skills and build new or improved skills
  9. Ad Hoc and special analysis or reporting as needed

Technical Skills – Critical - The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate superior skills in a Microsoft Office environment, data analytics and willingness to embrace new technologies as they become available.

Interpersonal Skills – Critical - The successful candidate will be able to interact professionally among multiple departments and job levels with a strong internal customer-service focus.

Innovation – The desire to constantly improve on the core job requirements, whether through efficiencies or accuracy, as well as identify and seek out solution to new issues and opportunities independent of direct guidance.

Qualifications

Education: MBA, Masters in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred; CPA a positive.

Related Experience:

7 – 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial planning functions within a complex medium to large company.  Experience with ERP systems across multiple facilities required.  An operational orientation and prior food business experience is preferred.

Equipment/Software Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling and robust analytical skills.  Knowledge of all Microsoft apps, SQL, Power BI and related analytical tools required.  Experience with the creation of data analytics and visualization software using tools such as Databricks or similar if preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations :

CPA a preferred

Physical: General office physical ability.

Mental/Reasoning: High mathematical aptitude, high analytical ability; strong reasoning skill to assess complex and diverse problem identification/solution options.
