Director, Finance – Transformation
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Finance to lead our financial and analytic strategy/operations for multiple segments of our finance team undergoing a transformation (e.g., Payments, Payroll, and more). This role is crucial in supporting our large organization’s B2B and B2C operations, ensuring financial efficiency, compliance, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance and data analytics, with a proven track record in managing complex financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, the candidate would be immediately responsible for overseeing the existing financial planning and analytics of the Payments & Payroll groups, evaluating new opportunities, integrating new services into our financial systems, establishing and monitoring KPIs, and overseeing the financial performance (both revenue growth and cost control). Over time he/she may partner with other assigned groups to assist in similar transformation and/or stabilization type efforts.
Routine responsibilities would include traditional FP&A and accounting activities, such as budgeting, forecasting, month end close support, account reconciliations, KPI and financial statement reporting, analytics, oversight of SOX and other key controls, etc. Ad hoc project based work would include business case development for new product evaluations, support in contract negotiations, new product pricing/analytics, financial integration activities, evaluation of international opportunities, and other duties as assigned. To deliver on these expected results, the position would oversee a team of analysts.
The right candidate will be very well versed in all things finance/accounting, have advanced analytic capabilities, and have an entrepreneurial spirit that helps to grow assigned segments of the business into a new phase of operational maturity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals of the assigned groups.
- Evaluate new opportunities and create business cases to justify capital investments to improve capabilities and address deficiencies.
- Evaluate international opportunities from a financial perspective.
- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Oversee capital requests and track both utilization and return on investment dollars allocated to the assigned departments.
- Lead segment-driven (geography segments, customer segments, etc.) analytics and make recommendations to improve the overall performance.
- Operational Management:
- Ensure efficient financial operations, including revenue management, cost control, budgeting/forecasting, invoice processing, financial statement management and financial reporting for both B2B and B2C sectors.
- Establish KPIs and monitor performance relative to expectations.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with assigned processes.
- Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the work of others to ensure maximum productivity and highest quality outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive financial performance.
- Participate in executive level updates and confidently represent the work product within the assigned scope of responsibilities.
- Work with business units across the globe to understand the uniqueness of their environment and the financial implications related to each.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance roles with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Extensive experience in managing finance and analytic functions in support of the payments and/or payroll (or similar) departments within large organizations.
- Proven track record in strategic financial planning and operational execution in both B2B and B2C environments.
- “Data scientist” type experience with evidence of advanced analytic capabilities, inclusive of data mining, data manipulation, and data visualization.

- Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams; self-motivated with a desire to win and ability to motivate or otherwise influence others to maximize the productivity of the broader group, holding others accountable when necessary.
- Communication / Professional Presence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder management, including creation of professional slides or other documents for an executive level audience.
- Strategy: strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced skills related to Excel and PowerBI/Tableau (or other data visualization software).
