Director of Engineering:

Intramotev is
seeking a motivated Director of Engineering to join the leadership team to
manage our growing demands for engineering talent for the development of
self-propelled rail vehicles. Intramotev is developing multiple unmanned
self-propelled vehicles. This role has a total engineering focus – the
successful candidate will be the leader of the engineering department that has
a strong technical background with a product focus (managing complex technical
projects, develop requirements, managing budget, and build / deliver products), customer
focus (managing/meeting customer requirements, timelines/delivery milestones),
and a strategic vision (team goals, hiring engineers, and prioritizing
projects). This role requires extensive engineering experience along with
multi-disciplinary skills. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO. A
small amount of domestic travel to support integration, demonstration and
customer engagement will be required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources
  • Implement innovative technologies
  • Work with the customers about
    their specific requirements and timelines/delivery milestones
  • Hire engineers and coordinate their training
  • Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects
  • Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget
  • Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements
  • Ensure compliance with security regulations
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools
  • Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field
  • Previous experience as a director of engineer or in a similar senior-level position within an engineering department
  • Extensive hands-on experience in both back-end and front-end development
  • Good understanding of system engineering processes
  • Strong leadership abilities and strategic focus
  • Excellent project management skills
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided)
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally for customer visits and conferences
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • Good understanding of agile methodologies
  • Experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces
  • Comfortable as a coach and mentor for engineers

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience.

Relocation:
