We are hiring a Director of Engineering to lead our Engineering teams in developing and delivering customer and consumer-facing web and mobile applications for the self-care industry. You will be a key decision-maker in defining our technical vision, strategy, and objectives as we continue to grow.  You will partner closely with Design, Product, Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to deliver solutions to challenging opportunities. You will continuously grow your self-care industry knowledge to ensure we are delivering reliable products that delight our customers. 

You will help foster a culture of continuous improvement in the delivery process, engineering practices, and innovation with a focus on being a best-in-class product for our customers. You connect people and build bridges across different teams and functions. You will often be given ambiguous, ill-defined problems, with the implicit goal of gaining clarity and driving direction and execution.

What you’ll do here:

  • Partner with stakeholders, R&D Leadership, and cross-functional teams to evolve and improve Boulevard web and mobile app experiences while executing on an ambitious product roadmap.
  • Lead teams within our platform engineering portfolio in delivering high-quality, efficient, scalable, and maintainable cross-platform user experiences that provide best-in-class solutions for our customers.
  • Ensure that our software, systems, and teams are architected to scale horizontally to support customer and Boulevard growth.
  • Drive clarity to ambiguous problems and provide direction to ensure solutions achieve desired business and customer outcomes.
  • Lead and nurture engineering managers, empowering them to enable high-performance teams and coach/support them through growth challenges.
  • Champion collaboration by ensuring quads (design, product, eng, product marketing) and squads are communicating effectively and openly.
  • Establish clear goals with your teams in support of company and departmental OKRs and be accountable to outcomes.
  • Uphold quality bar and practices in R&D.
  • Identify, track, and act upon quality, velocity, and other meaningful metrics that represent application and team health.
  • Nurture a culture of learning and development/career growth.
  • Nurture a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to grow and retain highly cohesive and motivated teams.

What you’ll need to thrive:

  • 6+ years of experience leading multiple cross-functional teams, managing managers, and building and evolving SaaS and eCommerce Platforms. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mature products, systems, and organizations through various growth stages.
  • Experience leading teams in a remote environment, across multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability to empower managers and teams, support career growth, and instill a culture of quality, ownership, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategy and execute on evolving systems and products to best support near-term outcomes while iterating towards long-term objectives.
  • You have driven a roadmap for a multi-product, cross-functional program through various stages of expansion and growth.
  • Self-driven to achieve high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience building scalable organizations.
  • Ability to act as a liaison, effectively communicating with multiple audiences across the company
  • Self-driven in cross-functional leadership and collaboration practices that yield repeatable, high-quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions that consider and exhibit comprehensive trade-offs and potential impacts to both the business and customers.

How we’ll take care of you:  

Your total budgeted cash compensation for this role is between $200,000 and $240,000 USD, depending on your current skills, experience, training, and overall market demands. This range is subject to change, and there is always room for growth and advancement.
