We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Accounting with a specialized focus on Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Reporting & Analysis. This is not a traditional accounting role, it requires someone who can translate complex financial data into meaningful insights and communicate effectively with senior leadership, the investments team, development team, budget team, finance team, and external stakeholders like lenders and investors. We are seeking a finance-first mindset and a strong ability to partner with business leaders across departments.
As a key leader in our organization, you will own the end-to-end CapEx reporting process for a multi-billion-dollar capex program by providing insights that shape investment strategies and business growth. You will work cross-functionally with senior leaders to ensure financial data is not only accurate but also actionable. Your ability to automate and standardize reporting processes will be instrumental in enhancing efficiency and transparency across the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

Develop and maintain comprehensive capital expenditure (capex) reporting for various levels of internal management and external stakeholders’ reporting needs

Design and implement systems to track and report complex CapEx allocations across multiple data centers.

Lead responsibility for month-end processes with an emphasis on capital expenditure reporting and variance analysis

Strategic business partner to the budget and forecasting team. Assist in financial budgeting and forecasting with a specific focus on capex.

Provide support for the annual internal and external audits

Identify, design and execute on designed SOX internal controls governing public companies

Responsible for maintaining a high-performing team including mentoring and training staff members and identifying cross-training opportunities

Lead other finance managers through example and work ethic to accomplish department development goals

Demonstrate agility with competing projects and priorities

Lead and nurture a work culture with a positive attitude that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives

Responsible for supporting management initiatives including process standardization and simplification, financial analysis and research, and reporting

Collaborate with other department in accomplishing strategic objectives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting and/or Finance

Seven or more years of experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas
-
Five or more years of supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Four or more years of experience in public accounting at a Big 4 firm

Seven or more years of supervisory experience
-
CPA
-
MBA, or graduate finance related degree
-
Oracle Fusion, Workday Financials or other large ERP systems experience

Intermediate understanding of REIT industry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent communicator with executive level managers

Experience with delivering high level presentations to company executives

A strategic thinker with an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial processes

Professional agility

Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experience with automated accounting and finance systems

Must have the ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization

Demonstrate willingness to partner across internal departments with competing priorities
