As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support analytics and reporting across the business. You will manage data ingestion, transformation, and publication in Microsoft Fabric while collaborating closely with Power BI Developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, actionable insights.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation in data engineering, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms, who is also eager to drive business impact through high-quality data management and automation.

What a day in life of looks like:

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines in Microsoft Fabric to support reporting and analytics.
  • Manage data ingestion from internal and external sources into the Fabric Data Lake.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency through validation, error handling, and reconciliation.
  • Optimise data models and structures to enhance Power BI performance and speed up insights generation.
  • Work with Power BI Developers to structure and enrich data for reporting and business intelligence.
  • Implement automation in data workflows, ensure data governance, and support predictive analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

This is a remote based role within Spain. Working pattern is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

What knowledge and experience are required:

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) with a Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Engineering).
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Strong expertise in SQL development, query optimisation, and building/maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines (Dataflows, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines).
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (e.g., relational databases, JSON, Parquet) and integrating data from APIs and cloud platforms.
  • Proficient in Python or PowerShell for automation, data processing, and familiar with data modelling principles (star schema, dimensional modelling).
  • Certified in Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) and Azure Data Engineer (DP-203), with a preference for Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) certification.
