About the The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Content Strategy and Operations to help evolve the fast growing Shutterstock AI business. The team’s scope of responsibilities includes creating and pitching customer strategies, executing new Data & AI partnerships and identifying and incubating new revenue opportunities. 

As the Director of Content Strategy and Operations for the AI Business, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and positioning Shutterstock for continued growth. You will collaborate closely with our Supply, Product and Customer Teams to prioritize and execute across new content opportunities. Your focus will be on understanding and translating customer content needs and market trends into new revenue opportunities. 

The Day to Day

  • Partner closely with AI New Business, Partner Management and Marketing teams and join customer sessions to better understand customer needs, trends and opportunities in order to develop and establish commercial priorities for the business.

  • Be a strong advocate for AI customers and customer teams by understanding, communicating and executing on customer needs across the various internal support functions that will help realize our opportunity.

  • Partner closely with Product and Supply teams to understand our existing content (inclusive of metadata) across all business units, identify and prioritize gaps to fill.

  • Develop business cases and revenue models to effectively translate customer needs into actionable and sellable revenue opportunities products.

  • Collaborate closely with our Supply team to prioritize and support content growth partnerships and acquisitions.

  • Anticipate future content needs based on the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

  • Develop, track and assess the effectiveness of content growth initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to industry thought leadership by authoring and collaborating on webinars, conferences, and other thought leadership opportunities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience driving strategy initiatives with a strong understanding of AI and ML technologies, trends, and applications. 

  • Experience with driving a business case forward from ideation and inception to modeling the market opportunity and successfully advocating internally for resources and development.

  • Passion for staying updated on industry trends and emerging content formats.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills both internally and externally with customers.

  • Excellent track record of successfully supporting new content growth initiatives, translating customer feedback and market knowledge into revenue opportunities. 

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively cross functionally.

  • Innovative and strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and business acumen.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.
 
The pay range for this position is below:

    • 180,000 - 200,000 per year in New York

Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.

The referenced salary range is based on the Company’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
