Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to create a strategic roadmap for the technologies, services, and solutions that are under their purview, which considers how to collaborate and align with the organization, and the long-term goals of CEI's technology, while setting achievable milestones to execute and evolve the plan.
  • Creates an actionable roadmap for Linux and Windows systems and services based on customer feedback and requirements, industry trends, and technology advances, and assesses how it will affect employees and processes.
  • Leads a team of individuals responsible for the design, development, upkeep, tuning, and assistance of 24/7 Linux and Windows systems that are essential for business operations. This involves installing operating system and hardware, monitoring, updating/managing risks, patching, backups, and ensuring the performance of enterprise class systems. Prepare and design for the future.
  • Directs the operations, processes, and standards of Cox Enterprises' use of public cloud workloads in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure Cloud, Google Cloud (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Guides the technologies that build, maintain, and operate Cox Enterprises' Virtual Server ecosystems both in the Cloud and On-premises. Knowledge of both VMWare and Nutanix technologies is preferred.
  • Oversees Cox Enterprises' Domain Name Service (DNS) capabilities ensuring a best-in-class service that meets the needs of a modern technology organization.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures that encourage best practices applying thought leadership in the architecture, design, and deployment of technology services and solutions.
  • Work in close partnership with senior business and technology management to evaluate and ensure technologies and software operated by Cox Enterprises meet future requirements and needs of Cox.
  • Use strong communication skills (both oral and written) to influence, encourage, and inform boundary partners and stakeholders across all leadership levels (up to the executive leadership level) to support, approve, or implement technology initiatives, process changes, and policy changes.
  • Fosters a culture of self-service, operational efficiency, and quality by providing tools, processes, and standards that are high performing to customers that are modern, user friendly, and solves business needs.
  • Skilled in vendor management ensuring regular effective communications and adoption of product releases, enhancements in technologies are understood, and expectations are met for quality of software.
  • Guide and shape a team of people - giving them support, mentoring, advice, training, tools, help, and assistance to aid in their team's development and performance. Assess individual talent management and performance based on the company's policy and standards. Take action to address any misconduct and recognize exceptional performance.
  • Resolve group issues and conflicts to promote excellent customer service, professionalism, and a positive work environment.
  • Manages their department's finances. Develop and support budget requests for capital and operating expenses, manage resources, monitor spending, and adjust budgets accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain strong connections with important customers, colleagues in the organization, key suppliers/partners, and experts in other organizations.
  • Act as Availability Manager during times of high severity outage, manage problem resolution process and sense urgency while assigning and rotating resources as necessary, and complete after-action report.
  • Use after-action report, customer feedback, data analysis, and other methods to enhance operational efficiency and create and promote a culture of proactivity.
  • Provide clear and timely reports of system performance, changes, challenges, opportunities, and other relevant information to management as needed. Examples include system metrics, dashboards, time sheets, and project plans.
  • Support and foster innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation.
  • Promote security and risk management by making sure that solutions, services, and applications comply with security policies and detect any faults or vulnerabilities through continuous evaluation of new and existing technologies designs.


Job Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field OR a Master's degree and 8 years' experience OR a Ph.D. and 5 years' experience in a related field OR 14 years' experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a management or leadership role.
  • Technical understanding of IP based networks, operating systems (Windows or Linux), wireless technologies, and internet-facing applications.
  • Experience in cloud native technologies running in AWS, Azure, or OCI, hybrid multi public and private cloud solutions, and SaaS services.
  • Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability technologies such as New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.
  • Proven understanding of the functionality of Storage and Data Protection solutions.


USD 159,400.00 - 265,600.00
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $159,400.00 - $265,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
