Job Summary
The Director, Charter Incentive and Saless is responsible for leading sales strategy and management of all Meetings, Incentives, Charters & Events (MICE) for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
Essential Functions
- Serve as lead sales executive who works to identify Charter and Incentive Sales opportunities, execute sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to potential clients looking to hold their meetings and incentives at sea.
- Execute annual sales plans for the Charter and Incentive Sales market upholding the integrity of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection brand.
- Develop sales pipeline of potential meetings and incentives clients, demographics, and target market analysis paired with understanding cycles of charter availability to maximize opportunities.
- Develops strategies for forecasting and analyzing sales needs and developing effective responses, delivery systems, and methods of measuring and evaluating results.
- Works in coordination with department head and Finance/Revenue Management to achieve maximum sales yields.
- Manage a team of Charter and Incentive Sales and operational personnel, including training and development and performance management.
- Develop and nurture relationships with incentive houses and corporations to develop charter sales prospects, customers, and repeat loyalty.
- Manage day-to-day meetings, corporate and incentive clients, presentation development, pricing, contracts, and win/loss ratio.
- Recommends and develops Charter and Incentive Sales product enhancements to improve competitiveness and maximize profitability; promotes marketing awareness and communicates the marketing objectives to support the achievement of plans and sales goals.
- Develop/direct initiatives to broaden customer base and market penetration.
- Oversee administrative functions including budget, invoicing, reporting, and CRM management.
- Liaise with the charter/group clients, shoreside staff, and shipboard staff to ensure flawless execution and the highest level of guest satisfaction
- Travel as needed to develop new business and attend travel industry tradeshows. Travel planning includes balancing our participation with that of Marriott Global Sales Organization (GSO) sales team members who serve as our extended sales team worldwide to support The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s global sales efforts to avoid duplication if unnecessary.
- Interact, train, and nurture GSO sales team’s understanding to help drive awareness through Marriott’s worldwide sales team.
- Awareness of cross-selling opportunities with Marriott properties.
Competency
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in travel/hospitality industry Meetings and Incentives role(s). Luxury hotel or cruise sales leadership experience is a plus
- Strong sales expertise in presenting a luxury product
- Experience developing a new/startup operation skillset a plus
- Superior communication and public speaking skills
- Leadership and people management proficiency
- Experience developing processes and performance management tools
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to analyze and work with sales data to develop strategies
- Budget management experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
Expected Hours of Work
The position is fulltime and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours.

What We Do
Designed to combine the luxury lifestyle of The Ritz-Carlton® and the casual freedom of a yachting vacation, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will offer voyages on three custom-built yachts. Calling on unique and distinguished destinations alike, most voyages range from seven to ten nights, offering many overnight calls and uniquely curated experiences ashore. Each yacht will feature 149 suites, each with its own private terrace, and accommodate up to 298 guests in a relaxed, casually elegant atmosphere. As with The Ritz-Carlton® on land, each yacht will feature personalized service, elevated dining and luxury amenities. The yachts are also available for private charter.
