We are looking for a strategic Business Intelligence Director to lead our BI team. In this role you will lead a team of analysts & data engineers driving automation, data governance, and impactful insights that shape our business strategy. The ideal candidate will establish a data discipline that enhances decision-making, drives efficiency, and evangelizes a central source of truth across the company.

The BI Team at LearnUpon works across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product, and Customer Success to power dashboards and automation on everything from product usage to our go-to-market pipeline. They own the data warehouse, data engineering pipelines, dashboards and deepdives. You will lead the team in efforts to provide consistent, scalable, and actionable insights using advanced BI tools and methodologies.


What will I be doing?

  • Lead, manage, mentor, and grow a team of data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists
  • Drive key technical & design discussions with the teams, covering data pipelines, tooling, data interpretation, stats, and data delivery in dashboards/reports/insights
  • Drive company wide data governance and data hygiene by collaborating with Business leaders across Sales, CX, Finance, Product, and Security to certify metrics, dashboards, and integrations
  • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters ownership, accountability, transparency and innovation
  • Be a role model who inspires people to action and holds a high bar for data quality and data interpretability
  • Drive alignment and buy-in across the org for an overall long-term BI technology road map


What skills do I need?            

  • 6+ years of hands-on technical management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in an IC data role - such as data analysis, data science, or data engineering
  • Deep knowledge of developing business intelligence & insights, from data ingestion, data pipelines/roll-ups, data cleansing, and final dashboard design
  • Ability to convey the right message to the right people at just the right time, with the purpose of keeping the business moving forward
  • Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends in data tooling
  • Strong understanding of and passion for data governance and data quality
  • Track record of recruiting and growing top talent
  • Strong management skills for planning and executing complex projects

What is the Hiring Process?

Applicants for the position can expect the following hiring process:

  • Qualified applicants will be invited to schedule a 30-minute call
  • Successful candidates will then be invited to a series of practical interviews, including a task
  • Finally, candidates will have a short interview with our CSO
  • Successful candidates will be contacted with an offer to join our team
