We are seeking a Director, Business Development to join IQVIA Laboratories in a remote role.

As the Director of Business Development, you will lead a sales team to develop and expand new business opportunities within customer accounts.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable legislation, including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues; and resolving problems.
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of all IQVIA services for appropriate cross-sell opportunities.
  • Actively networking in the industry to establish relationships and identifying potential opportunities.
  • Establishing and managing an effective business development program to maximize organization growth.
  • Continuously monitoring the status of Customer Account Plans and business targets to ensure a pipeline of opportunities is maintained.
  • Providing direction and serve as a resource for Business Development staff members, including performance management, career progression, and professional development.
  • Utilizing established industry network to assist junior sales staff in relationship development and identify potential business opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Senior Management and functional managers as needed to identify operations team members for proposal defense meetings.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or scientific discipline.
  • 12 years of relevant industry experience (CRO/Pharmaceutical), including 3 years of management responsibility.
  • Proven track record at mid-level and high-level contacts.
  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this role:

  • Excellent Business/Industry awareness and analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of commercialization and the principles of drug discovery and development.
  • Ability to identify and develop sales leads.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $134,200.00 - $249,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
