Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. Those linear and digital platforms are now combined and join Caps Radio, Wizards Radio, MSE Outdoor and Monumental Productions for a full suite of six media enterprises.
In addition to Capital One Arena – a venue which hosts 3M+ visitors across over 250 events annually, MSE also manages MedStar Capitals Iceplex (training facility for the Capitals), MedStar Health Performance Center (training facility for the Wizards, Mystics, and Go-Go) and EagleBank Arena (a 12,000+ live event venue on George Mason University’s campus).
In July 2020, MSE partnered with William Hill (subsequently acquired by Caesars Entertainment) to open the first ever in-arena sportsbook in North America, now called Caesars Sportsbook.
MSE opened “District E powered by Ticketmaster” in the spring of 2023, a flagship esports and entertainment venue. This 14,000-square-foot live-event theater offers a 365-day-a-year series of immersive experiences in esports, music, culinary excellence, event programming, and community events.

Position Overview: The Director of Basketball Operations will support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations and logistics of the Mystics. This role will be responsible for all Mystics team operations.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and handle all player travel arrangements including flights, hotel bookings, team buses, etc.
- Support the logistics and operations associated with the end-to-end player experience with the Mystics, including Team Housing, car rentals, etc.
- Lead all team and player communications and in-market player needs with internal and external partners.
- Assist the Head Coach with ongoing team calendar management.
- Manage the day-to-day team operations, programming, and scheduling.
- Coordinate facility scheduling for all games and practice sessions.
- Support the GM in overall Mystics budgeting and tracking.
- Oversee all aspects of expense management, ensuring expenses are within the rules and regulations of the organization.
- Support the GM and Head Coach on other operational needs.
- Collaborate with Player Engagement on all team and player off-court engagement and/or community programming.
- Serve as the point of contact for visiting teams.
- Lead coordination with practice players and teams.
- Maintain dialogue with WNBA League Office and ensure compliance with all WNBA regulations and league obligations.
- Interact with Mystics and Monumental Business Operations on an ongoing basis to push forward Mystics Basketball Ops initiatives as well as facilitating Business Ops requests.
- If issues arise, assist with resolving player disputes, dealing with disciplinary actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience within a basketball organization (WNBA, NBA, NCAA, or FIBA).
- Ability to think critically and problem solve.
- Highly organized self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, time management and flexible in approach to projects and problems, resourceful, and works well in a face-paced environment.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills; can clearly communicate within a cross-functional work environment.
- Ability to thrive in change, while always maintaining high attention to detail.
- Extensive travel required, including travel with the team on road trips and to other marquee events.
Pay Range: $100-110k USD.
