Ingram Content Group (ICG) is currently seeking a Director of Artificial Intelligence Solutions to join our team in LaVergne, TN (Greater Nashville area). This person directs the development and execution of innovative AI strategies that encompass both Generative AI and Deep Learning, while also overseeing data science initiatives. Provides leadership to engineers, developers and managers, overseeing a diverse team of AI professionals, driving research and development efforts, and ensuring the successful integration of AI solutions across the organization., Communicates complex concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Fosters a culture of collaboration and ethical AI practices and plays a pivotal role in leveraging advanced technologies to enhance business performance and drive sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science or a related field 
  • 7+years’ experience in AI and Data Science
  • 5+ years of management experience 

We have a preference for:

  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, generative models (e.g., GANs, VAEs), and statistical analysis techniques. 
  • Familiar with programming skills in languages such as Python, R, and SQL, with exposure to AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn. 
  • Familiarity with data architecture, data preprocessing, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) to support AI and data science initiatives. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on deriving actionable insights from complex datasets and translating them into business strategies. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex AI and data science concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to use major RDBMS like MySQL or PostgreSQL or SQL Server and any form of NoSQL like Mongo or Couchbase to invest in developing trends and core skills 
  • Knowledge of modern project life cycle methodology (Lean RUP, agile), Service Life Cycel (SLC), Release and Change 
  • Knowledge of cloud best practices and technologies. 
  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices. 
  • Ability to learn and employ new applications 

The Director of AI key responsibilities are:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy that integrates Generative AI, Machine Learning, and data science initiatives to drive innovation and business growth. 
  • Leads and mentors a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. 
  • Manages the lifecycle of AI and data science projects, from ideation and development to deployment and evaluation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and performance metrics. 
  • Leads research initiatives in GenAI and ML, exploring new methodologies and technologies to enhance product offerings and operational efficiencies. 
  • Collaborates across product management, engineering, and business units to identify opportunities for AI and data science integration, ensuring successful implementation and adoption of solutions. 
  • Participates in the establishment of ethical guidelines and governance frameworks for AI and data science practices, ensuring and promoting responsible use of technology. 
  • Works with the engineering team in a leadership capacity. 
  • Mentors, coaches, and develops Managers and Engineers.
  • Identifies Standards of code for “cross-pollination” to other projects. 
  • Provides support and oversight for development of proposals and prototypes. 
  • Manages development and engineering processes. 
  • Works closely with operation teams to ensure sound operation and delivery of service. 
  • Determines project assignments for development managers 
  • Works directly with clients to integrate and support products. 
  • Works with leadership team to plan future R&D projects. 
  • Investigates new technologies, creating prototypes for business teams. 
  • Works with Account Managers and Business team on responses to client RFP’s and integration requests. 
  • Determines new features with appropriate and effective design. 
  • Works with direct reports to build technical strategy and roadmaps 
  • Leads the discussion to deliver estimates for engineering efforts. 
  • Determines/creates an effective structure and organization. 
  • Engages with clients to understand their needs and demands
  • Assesses applicability of tools/software for development projects. 
  • Research solutions to bugs and other software performance issues.
