Position Summary

Directs accounting operations, including maintaining and enforcing corporate accounting policies and procedures, ensuring the integrity of financial data and reporting, and providing leadership and accountability for finance and accounting teams. Serves as an advisor to executives by leveraging data and tools to further financial analysis across the organization.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles and procedures in compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Reads and interprets financial statements, evaluates data to determine financial patterns, and develops business cases using financial information.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely completion of internal and external financial reporting and partners with external auditors on financial statement audits.
  • Researches, analyzes, and documents technical accounting issues in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Manages accounting policies, procedures, and controls for the company, including creating and updating policies and procedures.
  • Leads departmental projects and the implementation of new reporting and automation tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  • Oversee the risk management function, including providing accounting expertise and overall leadership for the risk management team.
  • Provides talent development, training, and mentoring to direct and indirect reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years of prior management experience.
  • Prior experience working in a publicly traded company.
  • Expertise in technical accounting policies, procedures, and treatments.
