Job Description:
The Director of Account management, Large Employer for Select Health leads a team of sales professionals responsible for renewing Select Health’s Large Employer business including fully insured, level-funded, Share, self-funded and national account business.
Essential Functions
- Develops retention strategy for increasing market share in self-funding, stop loss, PBM, and fully insured including Share, and Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs).
- Identifies and develops close professional relationships with producers, brokers, consultants and internal partners such as underwriting, compliance, marketing, enrollment, product development and others integral to renewing business.
- Oversees placement of new SelectHealth customers into Account Management books of business and coordinates changes to books of business to ensure Account Managers have appropriate workload.
- Provides leadership, development, and guidance to Account Managers . Measures performance and establishes team goals that are consistent with Select Health's yearly goals and meets sales goals by directing the process for Account Managers, brokers, and employers to renew existing business and provides leadership support to Account Managers and Underwriters to provide competitive proposals. Directs all operational and employee training and coaching and acts as a lead on sales presentations.
- Leads strategy meetings with Account Managers and Underwriting to promote collaboration and to meet shared objectives and goals and to identify gaps and create actions plans to improve performance.
- Maintains a complete understanding of all the components of Self-Funded, contingent funded, fully funded, and all other large employer benefit plans as well as a thorough understanding of the underwriting process for renewing groups, ability to evaluate risk, provide strategy and support with renewal negotiation internally and externally.
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of current market conditions and competitors and informs Product Development and senior leadership of information critical to the success of the company in developing market strategies using market conditions, industry trends, and broker insight to assist strategic product development.
- Assists the Sales AVP to create and maintain the sales budget each year and works with sales leadership and Human Resources to develop and maintain Account Manager Variable Pay Plan and salary.

Qualifications
- Current Utah State health insurance agent / consultant license.
- If incumbent does not have the license, they must acquire licensure within three months of date of hire to remain in the job. Additional licensing may be required in other states where SelectHealth in located.
- Progressive leadership experience in health insurance, marketing, or sales.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing sales related strategic plans and best practices, including goal setting, and performance management utilizing sales systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze costs and benefits of various solutions which support business strategies and objectives.
- Progressive health insurance industry experience.
- Demonstrated strong team leadership skills and the ability to gain the support of individuals and departments contributing to sales-related company objectives and goals.
- Demonstrated highly effective selling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver clear and concise presentations and workshops for producers and prospective employer groups.
- Demonstrated ability to develop processes to organize departmental activities to ensure high quality results through efficient use of resources.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong listening and reasoning skills, ability to work in a team environment and ability to communicate sensitive and / or confidential information to supervisors, co-workers, customers, and other external audiences.
- Proven competency in managing highly complex and difficult negotiations with external customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to travel as required to further business and professional relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
- Sales management experience.
- Strong understanding of the integrated delivery system model, with demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with all a wide range of stakeholders.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
