Software Development Engineer in Test

AAA Club Alliance is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our organization here in Wilmington, DE or Cincinnati, OH.

This position is a hybrid role and will require you to be on-site multiple days week.

We are seeking a highly experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Test Automation & Release Management to join our Quality Engineering team. This role requires hands-on experience in automated testing using Playwright, along with a strong understanding of modern web technologies such as Node.js and React.js.

As an SDET with a DevOps mindset, you will play a critical role in strengthening our CI/CD pipelines, embedding test automation throughout the development lifecycle, and enhancing release management processes to support the rapid and reliable delivery of high-quality digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. 

Qualification & Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation. 

• Hands-on experience with Playwright (or similar automation frameworks) to develop and maintain automated test scripts. 

• Strong understanding of Node.js, React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. 

• Experience testing responsive web applications across multiple browsers and mobile devices. 

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools. 

• Proficiency in API testing with tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI. 

• Experience working with GitHub and version control workflows. 

• Familiarity with Jira or similar project management and bug-tracking tools. 

• Knowledge of A/B testing, ADA and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, and PCI security compliance. 

• Experience conducting accessibility testing using tools like axe, WAVE, or Lighthouse. 

• Familiarity with Sitecore and Adobe Experience Cloud products is a plus. 

• Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including participation in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, and Backlog Grooming. 

• Experience working across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall environments. 

• Experience with Unit Testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) principles. 

• Experience with release management and optimizing QA workflows for efficiency and scalability. 

• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as Lighthouse, WebPageTest, or JMeter. 

• Basic understanding of security testing practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and integration of quality gates. 

• Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of QA processes into the development lifecycle. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Test Automation & Execution 

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright to validate web applications. 

• Implement end-to-end testing strategies for applications built with Node.js and React.js. 

• Conduct manual and exploratory testing to ensure feature completeness, usability, and high-quality user experiences. 

• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or REST Assured to validate backend services. 

• CI/CD & DevOps Integration 

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins. 

• Lead the DevOps process to enhance test execution reliability and deployment automation. 

• Improve test automation strategies to align with DevOps best practices and reduce test cycle time. 

• Quality Assurance & Process Improvement 

• Define and refine QA processes, workflows, and best practices to support a scalable and efficient QA function. 

• Assist in release management processes to ensure seamless, reliable, and controlled software deployments. 

• Provide detailed test reports, metrics, and insights to stakeholders to support continuous quality improvements. 

• Stay up to date with best practices in test automation, performance testing, accessibility, and CI/CD workflows. 

• Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Work closely with developers, UX designers, BA, PM, and product owners to embed testing throughout the development lifecycle. 

• Identify, track, and manage defects using Jira and collaborate with development teams for resolution. 

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. 

• Participate in release planning and align QA activities with development roadmaps and sprint goals. 

• Compliance & Standards 

• Ensure testing aligns with ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and PCI security requirements. 

• Conduct accessibility testing using tools such as axe, Lighthouse, or WAVE to ensure compliance and usability for all users.
