The Team:
Hiscox has an established operations centre in Lisbon with almost 40 people working for the Spanish Business. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of a fast-growing business unit. The volume of business is rising rapidly, and career opportunities are excellent should individuals demonstrate the skills and success in their roles.
The development plan for Hiscox Spain is very ambitious for the next few years and it is expected that the team will grow at the same pace as the business.
The role
The Digital Product Owner is a business representative with a strong delivery background, empowered to shape and direct the development of our products / services in a way that maximises business value. Is also responsible for Value Stream outcomes, prioritising the work of the team and accepting the solution. He will act on our digital channels through several products such as Broker, Client and Direct Portals.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a team of 3 Business Analyst

Works in collaboration with the Digital Value Stream Sponsor and Business Analysts to define Epics, MVPs and user stories

Owns the user experience and product direction for their platform/application

Acts as the primary business representative to Value Stream(s) to connect business and technology

Is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements

Is responsible for the product backlog, story prioritisation and acceptance criteria

Works with Solution Architects, Developers and Business Analysts to plan sprints

Have a thorough understanding of digital processes and be able to identify areas for process improvement

Support process streamlining and standardization

Build strong productive customer focused relationships with the Business, the Squad and third parties

Needs to be an independent thinker, and a key contributor in supporting the project management towards successful delivery of projects

Holding requirements gathering sessions, capturing meeting minutes, following up on action items, reporting backlog status, and ownership of product documentation

Managing scope creep and clearly communicating with stakeholders on feasibility and effort analysis.

Reviewing test cases and test plans from the System Test team, negotiate testing scope and timelines, review test scripts, review defects raised.

Driving the UAT with the business users, which includes performing some parts of the UAT, providing test scenarios and training to the business users, reviewing defects raised.

Maintaining risks and issues logs and actively managing the mitigation strategies
Person Specification

You will need to be able to think on your feet, and ruthlessly prioritise a development backlog and ensure the squad & your team are clear about the priorities.
