A Day in the Life

If you have a passion for developing and executing Digital Communication initiatives, amplifying corporate brand messaging and impacting people's lives through stories of innovation and technology in a data-driven approach,  we would love to hear from you. As a key member of our multinational Digital Communications Team —part of International Communications at Medtronic—you’ll play a central role in shaping our digital strategy in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), APAC (Asia Pacific) and Americas. In the role of Digital Communications Regional Lead APAC, you will be responsible for digital communications in the APAC region. You will play a crucial role in developing and executing aligned regional digital strategies that enhance our brand presence and engage our target audience across various digital and social media platforms.

The Digital Communications Regional Lead APAC reports to the Sr. Manager Digital Communications. The position will be based in Tokyo, Japan, and will be defined as Remote.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Digital Communications liaison for APAC Region
 

1. Aligned regional digital comms strategy

  • Build, maintain and/or optimize relationship with key stakeholders, especially the Communications Business Partners for the region
  • Plan and execute region wide as well as market specific priority initiatives, drive or supervise deployment and measure the impact
  • Set and maintain standards for content quality and channel audience centricity
  • Define levels of support due to key markets definition approach.
     

2. Streamline how we operate in APAC markets

  • Work with partners for capacity building (Communications Business Partners, agencies).
  • Have full visibility on Legal environment across the region (permissive vs. restrictive countries)
  • Secure execution of Corporate Marketing key programs for Brand and reputation building
  • Analytics and reports creation and distribution
     

3. Run regional Digital Comms education programs

  • Training on employee activation initiatives to increase Digital & Social Media expertise and reach of our activities
     

Digital channels & content management

  • Drive and maintain the regional editorial calendar, in close cooperation with the regional Communication Business Partners
  • Publish and update content on our flagships, the country websites, through the Content Management System (CMS)
  • Publish content to relevant Social Media channels through the Social Media Management System (SMMS)
  • Develop and/or adapt organic and paid Corp Marketing and Awareness Digital campaigns
  • Analyze performance, create reports, identify potential for improvement and implement it
  • Actively monitor digital & social media trends, conduct social listening activities and competitive analysis
     

Other

  • Opportunity to participate in international projects and initiatives which you’ll be assigned to by the Sr. Manager Digital Communications

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong verbal skills, fluent in English, Japanese native speaker
  • Enjoys working in a international and multicultural environment, is team player and willing to build international connections
  • Strong experience with content management systems
  • Digital & social media metrics and analytics professional
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in marketing, communications, business or relevant. Minimum 5 years digital communications responsibilities
  • Excellent project management and self-organization skills. Proficient in MS Office Programs
  • Active on common social media platforms and in observing social media trends
  • Interested in technical and medical topics and the creation of content for these topics
