HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Varsity Brands is on a mission to re-invent the customer experience for their consumer facing digital properties. In this role you’ll work from the center and partner with digital and technical leaders from each of our divisions, BSN SPORTS and Varsity Spirit, who are striving to build a world class digital experience for their customers. While Varsity Brands has transitioned to GA4, we need a talented and experienced Analytics Analyst to move us forward and take our analytics implementation tracking, dashboarding and reporting to the next level.

  • Review our “common” GA4 playbook for the enterprise.
  • Audit GA4 and Google Tag Manager implementations for all Varsity Brands digital properties.
  • Meet with each of our digital and technical leaders to understand their aspirations, goals, and objectives.
  • Document enhancements and fixes needed as stories or tasks in Jira.
  • Partner with our business and technical leaders to prioritize the work and then MAKE IT HAPPEN!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for the enterprise. Implement, configure, and maintain GA4 tracking to ensure accurate data collection across digital platforms.
  • Own Google Tag Manager (GTM) as a platform within the Varsity Brands digital products suite. Partner with stakeholder teams to ensure GTM is implemented and working to support business needs and data insights.
  • Develop custom reports, dashboards, and visualizations in GA4 and other reporting tools to effectively communicate insights.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to provide insights into website performance and user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics aligned with business goals.
  • Partner with the digital marketing teams to implement marketing pixels to support data capture that support campaign implementation and retargeting efforts.
  • Support site optimization efforts, including but not limited to A/B testing and other experiments to optimize website performance and conversion rates.
  • Provide recommendations for website and app enhancements based on data-driven insights.
  • Work closely with developers and designers to integrate analytics tracking into new and existing digital properties.
  • Troubleshoot tracking issues and implement solutions to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in web analytics and GA4.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Train and educate team members on GA4 analytics tool usage, methodologies, and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of web analytics concepts, including tracking methodologies, metrics, and dimensions.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, especially the data layer object.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing tools such as VWO and Optimizely.
  • Familiarity with session replay tools such as Hotjar.
  • Familiarity with front-end development languages such as React.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing concepts and methodologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Business, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • Proven experience as a web analyst or digital analyst, with a focus on Google Analytics.
  • Proven experience owning and maintaining Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM) as a platform and utilizing Google’s debugger tool.
  • Proven experience in implementing tracking codes and marketing pixels utilizing Google Tag Manager.
  • Google Analytics certification is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; drive, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
