MediaNews Group is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Digital Account Executive to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and driving sales growth for our digital advertising products. You will work closely with clients to understand their marketing needs and deliver effective digital solutions that maximize their return on investment.
*This is a remote role but you must reside in the state of Michigan.
What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and serve as the primary point of contact for all digital advertising needs to ensure client satisfaction
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets, conduct market research to identify potential clients and generate leads
  • Oversee the execution of digital advertising campaigns, including display, social media, email marketing, and other online marketing strategies; ensure campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client expectations
  • Understand client business goals and provide strategic advice on digital marketing solution, present and explain the benefits of our digital products to clients
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide clients with detailed reports and insights; use analytics to optimize campaign performance and recommend improvements
  • Work closely with internal teams, including creative, technical, and production, to ensure seamless execution of campaigns; coordinate with other departments to deliver integrated marketing solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape and use this knowledge to educate clients and drive innovative solutions
  • Maintain sales activities and client interactions in pipeline
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management


What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not necessary
  • 3+ years of experience in digital sales, account management, or a related field, preferably within a media company
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, display advertising, and email marketing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Google Docs
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

The majority of our roles are 100% remote excluding Production & Circulation although some roles require customer visits or occasional in office work. We do not have any intention of returning to an in office environment/culture.
