Role Summary

Role: DevOps / Release Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA.

Summary:

Pebble is looking for a DevOps / Release Engineer to manage our build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and software release processes. This role will play a critical part in ensuring reliable and scalable software deployments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and release management in an embedded or software-heavy environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software development and deployment.
• Manage build systems to ensure smooth and efficient software compilation and distribution.
• Oversee release engineering processes, including branch cuts, versioning, and deployment strategies.
• Ensure seamless distribution of software assets to the cloud for OTA updates.
• Monitor deployments, troubleshoot issues, and develop rollback strategies.
• Work closely with software teams to optimize build and deployment pipelines.
• Implement best practices for infrastructure automation, security, and monitoring.
• Maintain release notes, documentation, and compliance requirements.

Experience

• 5+ years in DevOps, Release Engineering, or Software Configuration Management.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and cloud services (AWS preferred).
• Integration of code coverage tools in CICD pipelines
• Experience managing OTA software updates and cloud-based software distribution.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.
• Familiarity with Docker,, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Experience working in embedded software environments or automotive software deployment is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
