The BlueCat Cloud Platform team is responsible for powering all BlueCat SaaS products. Our mission is to deliver BlueCat products on a reliable, fast, globally distributed, and cost-effective enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. 


We are seeking talented DevOps Engineer, to be part of our team of cloud, security, and Kubernetes experts, playing a crucial role in ensuring the availability and security of  BlueCat Cloud Applications. Responsibilities/Duties:

You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure for our diverse Applications, with a strong focus on Kubernetes and a focus on Terraform for Infrastructure as Code. 

•Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure

•Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC), with a primary focus on Terraform, ensuring consistency and repeatability across client environments.

•Collaborate with Cloud Platform and Application teams to architect and  improve application deployment and release processes.

•Troubleshoot and resolve production issues on AWS for clients, ensuring high availability and uptime.

•Monitor system performance using Amazon CloudWatch, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization and scalability within the AWS ecosystem for our clients.

•Implement and maintain robust monitoring and logging solutions with Prometheus or similar, customized to Platform requirements.

•Contribute to the development of internal best practices and methodologies.

•Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS and DevOps trends and technologies.

•Participate in an on-call rotation schedule


Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

•Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Kubernetes.

•5+ years of hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes; Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and concepts

•Proficiency with Kubernetes SDK/API and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go).

•Strong expertise in Terraform for managing infrastructure is essential.

•5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for software development projects.

•Expertise with GitLab CI/CD services and pipelines

•Experience with self-managing, Kubernetes deployed open source projects  (Postgres, Elasticsearch Cluster, Redis Cluster and InfluxDb Cluster).

•Solid understanding of core AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, etc.).

•Experience with AWS security best practices (e.g., IAM roles and policies, security groups, AWS WAF).

•Knowledge of networking fundamentals and beyond (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)  

•Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

•Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Preferred Qualifications:

•Kubernetes certifications (e.g., CKA, CKAD, CKS).

•Experience in GCP and Azure is a plus

•Demonstrated understanding and experience with handling federal cybersecurity requirements such as FIPS, FedRAMP, and FISMA.
