We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be part of a global team, working closely with colleagues across different time zones. Your direct manager will be based in Canada.

Responsibilities:
- Work within a team of professionals and be an integral part of ControlUp’s success.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Security, and IT teams to enhance ControlUp’s infrastructure.
- Deploy and operate a large-scale cloud platform on Microsoft Azure comprising single and clustered customer tenant VM’s running Linux, NGINX, NodeJS, OpenSearch, and Redis.
- Develop and implement SysOps tools and processes to support and automate ControlUp’s monitoring, patch management, and software lifecycle infrastructure.
- Work within a geographically dispersed team of professionals in the US, Canada, UK, Romania, and Israel.
- Research, develop, and implement tools to support ControlUp’s monitoring infrastructure and automation.
- Contribute to the development of CI/CD processes.
- Troubleshoot complex problems, from diving into the console during an issue to writing new monitors and automation.
Requirements:
- Strong scripting abilities, ideally cross-platform (Windows, Linux, Mac), including languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
- Strong experience with Azure and optionally AWS; troubleshooting webservers, databases, and applications running on Linux.·
- At least 3 years of experience managing Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
- Experience with and ability to troubleshoot TLS certificate issues, network difficulties (such as being able to identify when traffic is blocked by a proxy), OS permissions issues etc. – i.e., strong troubleshooting skills.
- Must have experience with monitoring systems.
- Must have experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or Salt.
- Experience using distributed version control such as Git/Azure DevOps, Github, and Gitlab.
- Experience deploying software to the cloud, preferably CI/CD.
- Experience as a self-starter. Organized, self-motivating, and team player.
Preferred:
- Experience with microservices architecture and design principles and scalability best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline and tools ideally Azure DevOps Pipelines, and experience with YAML.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Container orchestration·
- Attention to detail but also an ability to see the big picture.
- Perfect English skills (both written and verbal).
