We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team in building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and secure delivery platform for our security services. You will be critical in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines while ensuring high availability, performance, and security compliance. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure to support the platform.
  • Ensure the scalability and reliability of the platform through effective capacity planning and monitoring.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Integrate security testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Snyk.
  • Monitor and optimize pipeline performance to improve development and deployment cycles.
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST) compliance.
  • Implement and manage security measures, including encryption, access control, vulnerability scanning, and intrusion detection.
  • Regularly audit systems for vulnerabilities and work on remediation with relevant teams.
  • Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CheckMK, and Sentry.
  • Set up and maintain alerting mechanisms for infrastructure and application-level issues.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Work closely with developers, QA, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and deployments.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues and guided development teams on best practices for deployment.
  • Automate routine processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Continuously optimize costs and resource utilization in cloud environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
  • Proven experience in managing scalable and secure cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of secure DevOps practices (DevSecOps).
  • Familiarity with security tools like Nessus or OWASP ZAP.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (On-premise).
  • Expertise with VMWare vSphere
  • Expertise with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hybrid (cloud and on-premises) environments.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles.
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or Go).
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

As Colorado law requires under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, DirectDefense provides a reasonable compensation range for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year with a bonus package.
