About the Team

The Workday Continuous Systems Verification team is looking for a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join us in helping Workday to deliver reliable, resilient SaaS products to our customers. The Continuous Systems Verification team is an environments and verification team where we maintain close to production-like environments in Engineering, as well as a framework development team where we develop solutions for the Workday stack Continuous Testing and Delivery pipeline.

About the Role

The Workday Continuous Systems Verification team is looking for a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join us in helping Workday to deliver reliable, resilient SaaS products to our customers. The Continuous Systems Verification team is an environments and verification team where we maintain close to production-like environments in Engineering, as well as a framework development team where we develop solutions for the Workday stack Continuous Testing and Delivery pipeline.

As a DevOps engineer in our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge cloud platform technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Openstack) and implement tools to automate maintenance and support of our engineering environments. You will also work with Workday Service, Platform and Infrastructure changes to deploy changes to these engineering environment with a view to enabling verification of these changes. This unique role blends an understanding of the full Workday stack with usage of cutting edge cloud computing technologies to support verification of our platform, infrastructure and service interactions. You'll work with highly experienced verification and devops engineers in Dublin and the US to achieve this.

Your contributions will help to accelerate delivery of critical changes, and improve service, infrastructure and platform teams ability to deliver high quality products.

• You will be a key contributor to ensuring that Workday customers are provided with a resilient, quality service through your support of engineering environments and partnership with platform and infrastructure teams on verifying significant changes.

• You will build and execute environment management automation solutions which are highly reliable, resilient, and extendable.

• You will become an expert in Workday Platform and Service architecture, working with kubernetes, openstack, AWS and GCP on a daily basis.

• You will build and maintain engineering environments, developing deep knowledge of current and planned build and patch automation (Jenkins, Python, Argo CD, Argo Workflows).

• You will collaborate with highly experienced US based DevOps engineers in our team.

• You will participate in operational on-call support rotations, triaging and resolving issues and requests

• You will be a Quality practitioner promoting testing as a shared responsibility by ensuring automated tests run seamlessly in continuous integration pipelines

• You will continuously improve processes, methodologies and tools to enhance teams efficiency

About You

​DevOps Engineer - Basic Qualifications:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years industry experience.

• Practical experience with Linux/Unix system administration, monitoring tools and troubleshooting

• Experience working with containerized frameworks such as Docker or Kubernetes

Other Qualifications:

• Python experience is desirable.

• Experience building pipelines using CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, Artifactory​, Argo, Ansible.

• Cloud platform experience working in AWS/GCP/Azure is desirable

• Experience with RESTful web services is desirable

• Comfortable working in a SaaS environment

• Good working knowledge of distributed systems and microservices

• Experience with Agile methodologies and best practices

• Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
