This candidate will join a well-funded, fast-growing technology startup with the unique opportunity to help build out a critical function for the company.

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role involves managing and optimizing our development and deployment processes to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software products. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. This candidate would work a Hybrid work schedule out of our Toronto office 

What you will do:Infrastructure Management:

• Maintain and optimize cloud-based infrastructure to support scalable applications.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform/Terragrunt and/or CloudFormation.

CI/CD Pipeline Development:

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

• Set up monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
• Analyze system performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
• Understanding of underlying systems and technologies (operating systems/*nix{linux/unix}, networking{firewalls, proxies, etc}, databases{mysql/postgresql}, queues & streams)
• knowledge of modern metrics and apm systems (datadog, newrelic, prometheus, grafana statsd, etc)

Collaboration & Support:

• Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure smooth software delivery.
• Provide support for incident management and troubleshooting.

What We Look For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Strong scripting skills in languages like Bash, Python, or Ruby.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to change 
• Ability to work hybrid schedule - Monday/Friday WFH, Tuesday - Thursday, in office.
