Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the DevOps Engineer V position is to deliver a great consumer experience online through the development of software and maintenance of the mission critical ADUSA eCommerce core platform. The role drives the continued Azure cloud adoption and enablement of our engineering teams. With expert-level skills and the ability to lead complex, high-impact projects, this engineer will play a critical role in establishing and optimizing cloud infrastructure. This includes ensuring that our engineering teams leverage fully automated, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions while adhering to best practices in monitoring, logging, and operational culture. By collaborating with key stakeholders, this engineer will help define and execute the roadmap for a more efficient cloud adoption, advancing our strategic goals and enabling seamless, secure deployments across the organization. Their leadership will foster innovation and guide teams in implementing robust, cutting-edge cloud solutions that drive business transformation. They will help guard and maintain the software through architecture and design reviews and ensure that software is being built to address the scale and business needs to come.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop vision and set the technology strategy to compete and accelerate the growth of business
- Visionary and expert in providing end-to-end solution architecture on complex projects using latest Azure cloud technologies
- Develop, test, deploy, and optimize Azure IaaS/PaaS IAC code (Azure DevOps) and configuration management code (Salt Stack)
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining a secure and well-managed environment in Azure
- Translate requirements into a technical design that best utilizes Azure and complementary technologies
- Partner with development teams to help engineer scalable, reliable, and resilient software running in the cloud
- Champion high availability for critical systems, and systematically root out single points of failure
- Ensure sufficient logging, monitoring, alerting, and other areas of observability for infrastructure with high-availability requirements
- Provide expert technical guidance and ongoing engineering design review to teams adopting core platforms
- Develop POC projects to prove out the feasibility of an approach or technology
- Work backwards from the customer translation complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design that is stable, scalable, and resilient
- Identify business needs and make suggestions regarding technical direction
- Stay current with the latest software trends and emerging technologies and recommend opportunities for innovation
- Makes sound business decisions regarding how technologies will be implemented
- Makes recommendations to management and is heavily influential in the decision-making process
- Facilitate cross-team communication to guide complex projects and resolve complex incidents
- Inspire, mentor and groom developers to master modern technologies and enhance business domains knowledge
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar discipline OR equivalent work experience
- 10+ Years of experience in Software Engineering or DevOps
- Master in core technologies: Azure AKS, Azure APIM, Azure compute/storage/networking, Azure DevOps, GitHub actions, container-based development (Docker), Elastic Search, Relational Database (PostgreSQL), NoSQL(Azure Cosmos DB) and event streaming (Kafka)
- Master in designing, developing, and implementing the complex projects using Azure Cloud computing technologies - Azure AKS, APIM, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Redis, Istio, and Azure AD
- Master in implementing highly automated, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure
- Expert in modernizing legacy applications to modern technologies in Azure cloud
- Master in Continuous Delivery process and tools, testing frameworks and practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.)

- GitHub Certifications
- Capable of navigating across a sophisticated and rapidly changing landscape by staying on top of the latest trends
- Creator, a doer, and a disruptor who will help us seek solutions to problems and meet customer needs. You will be helping us build completely new capabilities, taking an idea and crafting rapid prototypes while learning from real-time feedback
- Able to foster efficient communication in a team environment
- Experience with Jira and Agile development methodology
- Strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in substantial discussions with partners across business roles and skillsets
- You care about cycle time and use CI/CD practices and tools to rapidly deploy changes to customers while minimizing risk
- Grocery or retail industry experience
Salary Range: $ 151,200 - $226,800
