About the team
FIS Digital One encompasses several integrated banking modules that will deliver an omni- channel banking experience for our customers and their employees, with a unified user experience and real-time access to customer, account and transactional data across all banking channels.
What you will be doing

Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant bottom-line impact.

Designs and develops software product applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software applications for internal use.

Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map.

Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.

Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.

Project management - prioritization, planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.

Operational Excellence - monitoring & operation of production services

Career management and development of direct reports

Manages work efforts of managers/supervisors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals and pay reviews.
What you bring:
-
Overall 12+ work experience in Java, J2EE, Microservice, Full-Stack domain
-
10+ years of Software Development experience; 5+ years of experience in building and leading strong engineering teams

Deep hands-on technical expertise in middleware and web-technologies

Solid software development background including design patterns, test driven development

Makes design decisions and technology recommendations to satisfy business requirements based on product roadmap/vision.

Establishes a coherent architecture vision of how FIS enterprise software and infrastructure technology will be applied to best address current and expected future application needs.

Continuously communicates vision in an audience-appropriate manner, both internally and externally, from developers and designers to business owners and customers.

Makes recommendations based on vision and associated analysis to satisfy tactical, operational and strategic needs

Software development experience in building REST, web services and highly scalable applications
-
Successful design and implementation of applications in a shared service bureau environment
-
Proficiency in creating and documenting high level and low-level technical designs.

Ability to do POC on multiple technology options and come up with suggestions documenting pros and cons of each option and the suggested option.

Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and time management skills
Added bonus if you have:

Experience with retail banking assisted channels, self-service channels and related middleware applications.

Experience with prototyping code and/or tools

Experience with responsive web design and development

Knowledge of financial services industry
