POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Development and Program Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and is responsible for administration and overall coordination of fundraising functions of the hospital, which includes but is not limited to, managing the existing CURE hospital donors, strategizing on new donor engagement, overseeing implementation of donor funded programs, marketing and branding and ensuring the hospital is fully automated. In addition, the Development and Program manager is responsible for patient recruitment, government relations, and hospital communications.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Donor Requests and Administration

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive written annual resource development plan with strategies for donors and prospects in each constituent group including: individuals, faith groups, organizations, corporations, etc.
  2. Broaden the hospital’s fundraising scope by researching, coordinating and writing proposals to prospective donors.
  3. Provide timely reporting and ensure compliance as required by the different donors as per their reporting requirements.
  4. Create and implement strategies for donor development and cultivation which will provide a diverse and sustainable funding base.
  5. Keep up-to-date on current fundraising programs, practices and procedures used in the nonprofit sector and inform the Finance Manager and Executive Director of items that would benefit the hospital.
  6. Create and implement Major Gifts Program, Planned Giving Program, and Volunteer/ Human Resource Giving Program.
  7.  Build and maintain relationships with major donors of all types, develop strategies for solicitation, and solicit or coordinate the solicitation by other affiliate staff, board or volunteers, as appropriate.
  8. Ensure that the donor database information is current and accurate.
  9. Offer support to the Business Development Office in identifying and pursuing new sources of corporate and foundation funding.

 

Business Development and Government Relations

  1. Create strategies to increase patient numbers through mobilization and follow up processes.
  2. Responsible for continuously enhancing the hospital’s brand position.
  3. Ensure all hospital’s operations are of a high quality and continuous enhancement of quality in all activities to ensure the hospital meets and surpasses the patients’ needs. This is the key foundation of enhancing the hospital’s brand.
  4. Develop a strategy to market the hospital using various marketing media (e.g. print, digital, broadcast and signage company profiles, leaflets and updating relevant information on hospital website, Facebook and Twitter) to increase awareness about the hospital.
  5. Develop a strategy on developing and distributing/broadcasting documentaries on the hospital success stories and testimonials by recovered patients.
  6. Identify foundations/corporate social responsibility programs working in country and develop a strategy on working with them to support the hospital activities.
  7. Aggressive marketing of the hospital services by entering into marketing strategies/contracts with key organizations that the hospital can provide orthopedic care.
  8. Review the implementation of the mobile clinics programs to make them a gateway for patients.
  9. Ensure the hospital’s marketing campaigns provide for broadcasting in the main media programs being run by international doctors at the hospital.
  10. Organizing publicity events within the hospital, local community partnership events and collaborating with relevant government agencies in arranging community awareness campaigns. 
  11. Lobbying ministries and political leadership in assisting the hospital services and projects.
  12. Plan, design, develop and implement customer experience support processes and ensure appropriate, timely and quality resolution of customer queries.
  13. Conduct program reviews and prepare reports for management.
  14. Ensure timely reports are submitted to the government as required.
  15. Engage government officials for visits to the hospital and ensure that the hospital maintains its importance as a strategic partner to the government. 
  16. Attend government meetings and functions of strategic importance to the hospital.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Degree in Communication or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. Diploma in Business Management or Public Relations is a plus.
  3.  2-3 years of relevant experience.
  4. 3+ years experience supervising others.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills; fluency in English language is essential.
  2. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  3. Strong critical thinking skills, ability to solve problems and resourcefulness.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
  5. Strong computer skill in MS Office Suite is required.
  6. Demonstrated strength and experience in report writing.
  7. Excellent management and leadership skills.
