You are a highly motivated self-starting design engineer with a proven track record of bringing consumer products to market. You thrive in fast-paced environments with entrepreneurial DNA and are comfortable charting new territory. Your strong organizational skills allow you to stay on top of multiple projects at the same time. Your product design engineering chops allow you to research, create, review, support, and manage. You have a natural curiosity and repeatedly ask the question, “Is there a better way?” You can trouble-shoot and problem-solve every different kind of product, manufacturing, or material challenge thrown your way. In fact, you love solving problems – the bigger the challenge, the more satisfying the resolution.
We are seeking a design engineering intern to lead validation testing and ideation for our Food and Beverage Research and Development (R&D) team. You will work closely with our R&D engineers, our validation engineers and our lab technicians to ensure new technologies meet YETI standards. You will be responsible for testing new products, ideating on new technologies with our team and reporting progress. You will gain insight into how R&D fits within a design engineering organization and how new technologies contribute to the product roadmap.
Responsibilities:
• Ideation of new concepts and product architectures
• Testing R&D technologies at our off-site innovation center
• Develop 3D, using Solidworks, for new ideas related to R&D
• Research new technologies and manufacturing partners
• Support Design Engineering and R&D as new engineering tasks arise
· Share and present status of testing and progress with leadership.
Qualifications:
• Pursuing B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics or similar engineering discipline (Junior/Third Year Students preferred)
• Proficient in 2D, 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• FEA analysis experience preferred
