Position Summary:
Fried Frank’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) team works closely with firm leadership and the firm’s six Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to increase the diversity of our workforce and to ensure that Fried Frank is a place of inclusion and belonging, where attorneys and business services professionals can thrive and reach their full potential. The DEIB strategy is built on four pillars: strengthening partner and business services leader engagement; developing inclusion skills firmwide; embedding DEIB into policies and processes for people, clients and the community; and elevating ERGs as catalysts for change.
The Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Coordinator will join a dynamic team that implements the global DEIB strategy across Fried Frank’s offices in New York, Washington DC, London, Frankfurt and Brussels. The inaugural DEIB coordinator in London serves as a confidant and resource to attorneys and business services professionals and supports the implementation of strategic DEIB initiatives and ERG programming in partnership with practice group management, human resources colleagues and other departments at the firm. This includes DEIB and ERG events, client and industry surveys, external partnerships, in the London office. Fried Frank has a hybrid work model which involves 3 in-office days and 2 remote days.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and execution of DEIB programs and initiatives, ensuring cross-cultural alignment in the European context.
- Conduct research on DEIB best practices and trends to inform strategies and initiatives
- Serve as a champion for our employees and partner with the global team and colleagues in London to implement the firm’s DEIB objectives
- Proactively develop creative and strategic ways for our Employee Resource Groups in London to build community, develop professionally, and raise the profile of their members internally and externally.
- Support the creation and distribution of DEIB communications, including newsletters, firm-wide emails, and intranet updates.
- Coordinate logistics for DEIB events, meetings, and training sessions, including ERG event planning, room bookings, and attendee tracking.
- Collect and analyze European DEIB-related data for reporting purposes, contributing to transparency and informed decision-making.
- Contribute to DEIB content on internal and external platforms, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Participate in knowledge sharing events and represent the firm at local DEIB conferences, including networking with UK based DEIB organizations to strengthen existing partnership and form new relationships.
- Coordinate logistics for external partnerships that amplify the firm's DEIB efforts beyond the workplace.
- Assists with other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services firm.
- Experience working on DEIB initiatives.
- Excellent organizational skills with good attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent editing, writing, and oral skills.
This is a hybrid role, with a minimum requirement of 3 days per week in the office.
