We are Growth Lending. We work with innovative and high-growth companies. We enable them to accelerate their growth by providing a range of flexible credit solutions. We provide facilities from £100,000 to £30m and have lent more than £1bn to more than 500 companies over the last decade. We have a global footprint, with offices in London, Manchester, Bristol, Manila, Atlanta and Cape Town. This role is based in Cape Town.
This is an amazing opportunity for a skilled, experienced investment professional. You'll be CA qualified, with 4 – 6 years’ post-qualification experience. You will have deep financial analysis expertise, and pride yourself on creating thorough, balanced investment papers. Exposure to SMEs and high-growth companies in corporate and commercial finance is also vital. You'll manage more than one deal at a time, working with a wide range of external contacts. You will know how to present your work with clarity and consistency.
We offer a range of loan-type products that support the growth of SMEs in the UK and US. You will join our team of deal execution experts to pair with deal-originators in the UK and US. Once we find a solid opportunity, our Debt Structuring Managers work with the sales team to take deals through to credit. We have a range of products, so you will learn to work with a range of risk factors. You'll scrutinise potential portfolio companies and prepare detailed, impactful credit papers. Conducting financial due diligence, you'll communicate findings to your colleagues. You will enjoy analysing deals across various sectors, bringing a forensic and pragmatic approach to all. Once you understand our processes and markets, you will present your deal’s value to your senior colleagues. This role is ideal for someone who takes responsibility for both their own success, and also that of the wider team.
This role stands out from many that are similar. Our sales team relies on our Debt Structuring Managers to interrogate every deal, as if they were investing their own money. We invest with great integrity, so your work is never a "rubber stamping" exercise. We will expect you to become an expert in SME funding and to look at deals from all sides.
We do things differently. Growth Lending is no ordinary place to work. From the start we have focused on driving up diversity and inclusion in the financial services space. We strive constantly to ensure that throughout our team, at all levels, we achieve a diversity that matches the world around us and not just the sector in which we operate.
To support this aim we offer every member of the team the following:
• An organisation that embraces and encourages diversity, top to bottom and end to end
• Diverse recruitment panels
• Enhanced parental leave policies and practices
• Flexible working patterns, including working from home and fitting around the family, plus part-time positions where possible from a business perspective
• Strictly monitored and enforced pay equality
• One-to-one coaching and mentoring programme from a highly skilled and experienced People team
• Access to high quality internal and external training
• Excellent benefits and Employee Assistance Programme as standard, with additional external support when required
When we say that everyone is welcome, we can prove that we mean it. We are a highly supportive employer and we know we only get the best of the best when the only things we judge are experience, skills and aptitude. Growth Lending’s organisational culture celebrates difference and encourages individuality, so start thinking about where you fit in.
What We Do
We bridge the funding gap, fuelling the success of high-growth businesses in the UK, US and across Europe.
We've been supporting SMEs since 2011, when we first noticed a missing link in the funding ecosystem for growing businesses.
Back then we focused on growth capital, bridging the gap between traditional banks and equity under the banner of BOOST&Co, but we knew this didn’t solve the whole problem.
In 2020 we acquired GapCap and KX Media Capital, uniting these brands under the Growth Lending banner and launching our first working capital facilities.
In the years that have followed, we have grown significantly, but some things remain the same: much like the firms we support, we do things a little bit differently. A human-first lending approach enables us to be agile and flexible, with decisions made by people, not machines.
To date, we have lent more than £1bn to growing businesses.
