The Dean of Student Success at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott serves as the primary resource for student affairs matters at the Prescott campus. This senior leadership position provides strategic direction, oversight, and management of the divisions of the Dean of Students, Athletic Director, academic advising and Center for Teaching and Learning Effectiveness. This position plays a crucial role in promoting student success, retention, well-being, and engagement by fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment conducive to learning and personal growth. This position reports directly to the Chancellor and collaborates closely with other senior leaders within the institution.
Key Responsibilities
- The Dean will be an approachable and engaging leader, acting as a strong advocate for student success across the Campus.
- Guide the development and prioritization of student affairs objectives, goals, and strategies in collaboration with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, academic departments, and other key stakeholders to improve efficiency, communication, and overall student success.
- Spearhead visionary efforts in the creation and implementation of strategic initiatives and support plans that enhance the student experience while advancing departmental goals and supporting the University’s Strategic Plan.
- Oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of the Student Affairs division, advocating for and implementing changes as needed to better serve students.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and federal/state regulatory requirements, acting as the point-person for internal and external audits.
- Oversee departmental communication and responsiveness, ensuring a positive, proactive reputation for all units.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and resources to promote student success, retention, and graduation.
- Ensure the efficient utilization of resources, including budgetary allocations and staffing, to support the delivery of high-quality student affairs programing and services.
- Collaborate with academic departments and faculty to support co-curricular learning opportunities and enhance the integration of academic and student life experiences.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree and have experience as a faculty member as well as academic advising.
- The next Dean will have demonstrated success in personnel management and administrative leadership, particularly in mentoring staff and students. Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives, engage with institution leaders, and foster student success
- Expertise in implementing strategic visions that align with institutional goals and drive forward initiatives in student success and external partnerships.
- A strong commitment to student success, staff support, and the ability to foster partnerships within University.
- Experience in budgeting and efficient resource management, collaborating with senior leadership to ensure alignment of financial priorities with institutional objectives.
