Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a DBA Developer III and engage with brand new technologies to deliver outstanding customer solutions. You'll excel in database administration, develop comprehensive reports and dashboards, and collaborate with Amazon Web Service architects on intricate challenges. Automate tasks for both new and existing database environments to ensure flawless operations!
What will you do?
- Design, develop, and implement scalable services for various RDBMS types and processes
- Serve as a technical resource for development and infrastructure initiatives
- Assist in the deployment and ongoing support of applications and database infrastructure
- Collaborate seamlessly with other Database and IT professionals to support critical business initiatives
- Demonstrate strength in the design, installation, and deployment of sophisticated database landscapes
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends in RDMS, Data Warehouse, Application Integration Platforms, and Data Transformation Tooling
- Work with DBA Management to develop enterprise data technology standards and governance processes
- Use backup, replication, and encryption technologies to protect corporate RDMS systems from loss or theft
- Support the continued adoption of agile project management methodology
- Provide support for database and data-related issues
How will you get here?
Education
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
4+ years of professional experience in database services
Familiarity with database technologies and concepts
Exposure to Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/OCI)
Proficient in T-SQL, PL/SQL, Java, REST, JSON, XML, JavaScript, Ansible, and Bash
Experience with Jenkins, Git, and other development tools including Oracle APEX
Ability to build user documentation
Exposure to database security management
Operational experience with tasks such as ticket closing, backup, restores, generation of new users, and administrative tasks
Ability to install and configure database clients on Linux, Windows, and DBaaS (RDS, Azure SQL Database, etc.)
Experience with Windows Server and Linux (RHEL)
Familiarity with process automation and orchestration technologies like Ansible
3+ years of Python development

Ability to work well both independently and in a diverse team environment
Proficient user documentation skills
