Position Summary:
The position is required to manage databases in production environment and handle disaster recovery scenarios
Job Responsibilities:
- Candidate shall be responsible for installation, configuration and upgrading Postgres, MongoDB database in a docker containerized environment managed by orchestration tool Kubernetes
- Candidate shall establish, implement and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
- Candidate shall ensure that databases implemented is highly available
- Candidate shall be responsible for replication and disaster recovery restorations
- Shall conduct periodic tests on backup and recovery complying with ISO standards
- Database tuning and performance monitoring.
- Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
- Plan growth and changes (capacity planning).
- Work as part of production operations team and provide 7×24 supports when required.
- Be available on On Call support to recover or support incidents
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate should have minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in database administration
- Candidate should be a B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech in E&C or Computer Science
- Candidate’s primary domain of expertise should be database administration for cloud based applications
- Database Administration certifications is desirable must for MongoDB / Postgres
Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies: Please list the preferred qualifications and ideal behaviors needed for this position based on the following:
- Excellent knowledge in managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Proven working experience as a Database administrator
- Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
- Strong working knowledge of databases in container environment
- Strong working knowledge in at least one cloud environment preferably AWS
- Strong working knowledge of performance tuning and patch management
- Strong knowledge on database replications and worked with disaster recovery scenarios
- Excellent in writing MongoDB queries, Index and shard management
- Solid technical expertise and troubleshooting skills
- Fluent verbal and written English
