Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and business-focused Data Surge Program Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the Data Surge program, which is in place to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of our data across various business functions. This role requires a strong understanding of business processes and the ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams to drive data quality & governance initiatives. This leader will be accountable for bridging technical data management with strategic business objectives inside Mars Snacking.
What are we looking for?

Minimum of a BS/BA in Business, IT, Engineering, or related. MBA/MS is a plus.

10+ years of experience within a Data Governance/Transformation/Project Management role.

Extensive experience within data governance, master data management (MDM), and data quality assurance

Leadership experience is a plus.

Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication and collaboration skills, cross-functional collaboration expertise, strong customer centric mindset especially within an internal customer base with the purpose of driving adoption and usage, strategic thinking, and some proficiency in data quality, prior experience in decentralized data management including the management of fragmented data domains like sales, finance, marketing.

Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business requirements into data quality initiatives. Ability to mobilize and engage a network of Associates with day-to-day responsibilities for data management.
What will be your key responsibilities?

Data Governance: work collaboratively with the CDO team to establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data is managed and used effectively across the organization and implement these data governance frameworks across the company (regions, functions). Run an effective demand management and prioritization process together with the CDO team to ensure speed of priority issues are managed with the business.

Data Analysis and Remediation: work with the regions, functions and CDO org to Lead the necessary data quality assessments and root cause analyses to identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Data Steering Committee: establish and run the global data governance steering committee in partnership with the CDO team

Data Quality Management: work with the CDO team to develop and implement data quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across the organization.

Establish Accountabilities: establish clear ownership and accountability for all data-related roles across the organization, create and implement incentives for data quality and governance. Work with business (function and region) teams to make sure that roles are clear, fully implemented and empowered.

Training and Adoption: Collaborate with the CDO team and Provide input and guidance to training programs to enhance data literacy across organization. Drive the regional and functional adoption of Data Management and Governance throughout the organization, finding a balance between global consistency and local flexibility

Executive Steering Committee for Data Quality: establish and run the global data governance steering committee in partnership with the CDO team, for Data Quality.

Business Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure data quality initiatives align with business objectives including current issues and future needs. The role will work across regions, functions and with Mars Global Services functions and Master Data teams in partnership with CDO team and the agreed operating model

People Leadership: Build and lead the Data Surge Program team, demonstrating great line management, bringing together the critical capabilities that are required to deliver the program, while building the longer-term capabilities required within the broader organization.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
