Role Value Proposition:
MetLife Data & Analytics organization is the team of expert technologists responsible for building big data platforms and data services with innovative technologies to enable MetLife businesses to generate insights, and value to its customers. The team is the center of excellence in data engineering in MetLife and plays a key role in data enablement through multiple data stores, supporting different kind of analytical use cases to be able to derive predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive insights.
To lead the design, architecture, delivery, and execution of end-to-end data solutions for key insurance business functions such as claims service &operations, customer acquisition, customer engagement & retention, distribution, investments, marketing, risk management and underwriting. The role will collaborate with partners from Business, operations, technology, and risk management functions to design robust architectures that optimize data storage, processing and analysis ensuring scalability, security in alignment with the organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business data requirements and develop comprehensive architecture plans along with enterprise architects.
- Design and lead the development and delivery of efficient, scalable, and trustworthy data layers & data solutions.
- Work with BSA's to understand data lineage, understand current state technology and data infrastructure (on-prem, cloud) assess future state information needs and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to co-create enterprise architecture solutions.
- Contribute to developing Data solution roadmaps.
- Deliver products and solutions in a timely, proactive, and entrepreneurial manner.
- Institutionalize best practices, contribute to research and experimentation efforts.
- Accelerate solution delivery using re-usable frameworks, prototypes, and hackathons.
- Stay updated on the industry trends to incorporate the latest technologies into their solutions.
- Empathy led engagement with focus on stakeholder motivation, needs and aspirations.
- Present solution architecture to Business, BSA's, and delivery teams
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- Azure BigData ecosystem, Synapse/Databricks Spark, Data Factory, Functions, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL DB, Delta LakeSolution architecture, data architecture, data analysis. Solutioning skills to build & implement trustworthy and efficient data layers for a variety of consumption needs such as data API, reporting, and advanced analytics.
- Data classification, data lineage, data profiling and data quality, data transformation and data validation.
- Datawarehouse, data fabric, data lakes, data marts, data mesh concepts.
- Experience working with large and complex internal, external, structured datasets.
- Responsible development of Data solutions. Detailed technical documentation for solutions.
- Agile methodologies & tools.
- Industry knowledge about emerging Cloud, Data trends, tools and technologies
Required:
- 4+ years of solution development and delivery experience with 2+ years of recent experience in data architecture / Analysis.
- Proficiency and extensive Experience with modelling, Scrum and agile principles.
- High level understanding of business experience, architecture knowledge
- Hands on SQL knowledge and data analysis skills for data anomaly detection and data quality assurance.
- Very good problem solver and excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Scrum Master CSM and SAFe certified.
