The Opportunity
Partner with senior data scientists and business collaborators to improve actuarial risk models, streamline financial operations, optimize HR processes, and drive digital marketing campaigns! Applying brand new analytics and GenAI technologies, you will discover opportunities, build high-impact models, and seamlessly integrate solutions into existing workflows across various corporate functions.
You will be at the forefront of our digital transformation journey, championing data-driven decision-making and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Develop technical skills and gain business insight through collaboration on strategic objectives with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Holistic Advanced Analytics
- Work together with actuaries, finance, HR, digital marketing, and IT teams to build and deploy solutions, such as predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and GenAI applications.
- Translate complex business challenges into analytical frameworks and deliver actionable insights that drive innovation and efficiency.
GenAI & Automation
- Research and apply Generative AI techniques to automate manual processes, improve data interpretation, and introduce brand new solutions for multiple business domains.
- Experiment with emerging tools and technologies to maintain a forward-looking approach in analytics and AI.
Data Exploration & Model Development
- Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured datasets from across corporate functions, uncovering patterns and relationships that inform model building.
- Develop, test, and refine predictive and prescriptive models that support risk assessment, financial forecasting, marketing optimization, and operational improvements.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Work closely with a diverse set of stakeholders—from actuaries and finance professionals to HR leaders and digital marketing managers—to ensure insights are effectively integrated into their respective processes.
- Provide mentorship on standard methodologies for data and collaborate with IT teams to deploy solutions in scalable production environments.
Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of models post-deployment, making adjustments to enhance accuracy, reliability, and business value.
- Incorporate user feedback and evolving business needs to refine analytics strategies and maintain alignment with organizational goals.
Data Governance & Security
- Adhere to data governance, security, and privacy standards while handling sensitive corporate and employee data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies across multiple functional areas.
Communication & Partner Engagement
- Communicate complex data science concepts and findings in simple, non-technical terms to help decision-makers act on analytics-based recommendations.
- Encourage a data-savvy culture by mentoring and enabling non-technical teams to bring to bear analytics tools and insights effectively.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Contribute to peer reviews of models and code, ensuring quality control and knowledge sharing within the data science community.
- Share standard methodologies, stay current on industry trends, and cooperate with senior team members to continually enhance the team’s capabilities.

What we are looking for
Educational Background
- Master’s or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Technical Proficiency
- Solid experience in at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python or R).
- Familiarity with data manipulation, visualization, and machine learning libraries and frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) or big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and translate findings into robust, scalable solutions.
- Comfort in applying statistical and machine learning techniques to real-world challenges in actuarial, finance, HR, marketing, or related domains.
Collaboration & Communication
- Proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present technical concepts to varied audiences, influencing partners to adopt data-driven practices.

Salary range is expected to be between
$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CAD
