Data Scientist

ImpactAs our Data Scientist you will help build the next generation of processes and algorithms to elevate our order offering and surge pay platforms. Every day you will work on a team of 5 to create models to predict the time at which an order is most likely to clear our system, and, through experimentation identify optimal pricing and order offering decisions. You will contribute to efficient machine learning services that include data pipeline development, automation, model versioning, and deployment. You will turn data insights into action by generating ad-hoc research, automated dashboard, and ETL pipelines. You will do all of this using Python, SQL, FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, Kafka, Tableau.

• 1+ year experience with mathematical optimization, dynamic pricing, economics, or statistical modeling

• You have experience with common machine learning algorithms and frameworks

• You are proficient in a high-level programming language (we use Python).

• You have strong SQL skills (we use Snowflake)

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay Range:

$82,086-$164,314

All other locations:

$68,405-$136,929

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
