We’re excited to be recruiting a Data Science Manager to lead the Data Science Team at Mews. If you’re passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and leading innovative projects that will shape the future of hospitality, with an exceptional team of Data Scientists, then this is the role for you.
In this role, you’ll be managing a team of 7 that are responsible for leading the development, deployment, and ongoing support of AI/ML models at a leading hospitality tech company. Reimagining the guest and hotel experience.
The opportunities for AI/ML at Mews are endless and we’re not short of ideas, but to give you an understanding of the types of work the team have been involved in:

AI Smart Search: Building a new way to navigate the Mews product by using semantic search users can write natural language and find reservations, guest data or navigate through the product quicker than ever.

AI Smart Tips: With a wealth of guest profile data we want to arm hotel staff with a quick, short summary of the guest ready to greet them in a personalised way at check-in based on historic context.

- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists. You will get energy from developing those in your charge and creating an environment for your team to do their best work.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. The success of AI/ML at Mews requires the deep context and partnership with our product and platform teams, our customers and the data.
- Define team goals and track progress against them. Doing so collaboratively with the team and the wider business stakeholders to ensure you’re solving the right problems that drive impact for our customers.
- Shine a light on the team and the impact they’re driving. Bring high visibility and transparency to their work and be skilled at articulating the impact in an accessible way.
- Provide hands-on support to the team on technical challenges as needed.
🤝️ You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
- Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI.
- Promote best practices in coding, model development, and deployment.
- Be heavily focussed on the business impact of initiatives in the team and foster that within the team. It’s important to connect to the customer, understand the strategic need and where possibly take an approach of delivery value early and often.
- Act as a bridge between the data science team and stakeholders to ensure the successful adoption of solutions. Such as addressing concerns about their "black box" nature, fostering trust through transparent communication, education, and tailored change management strategies to drive team buy-in and solution utilisation.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models, algorithms, and analytics solutions.
- Ensure the quality, scalability, and performance of delivered solutions.
- Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
