The Opportunity
Data and Reporting is a newly formed team within Escode with the mission to deliver a data strategy tailored to our business, delivering innovation and supporting business growth. We are looking for a Data and Reporting Analyst to join our in-house Data and Reporting team. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic candidate who will share their time between modelling and interpreting data for reporting solutions, building Power BI dashboards and undertaking data stewardship activities.
The successful applicant will be confident in requirements gathering workshops, engaging with senior stakeholders and covering a broad range of data across a multitude of systems, business processes and areas of the organisation; with the aim of designing and delivering appropriate solutions which address any challenges at hand.
Escode’s complex system landscape will require you to keep data quality in the forefront of your mind at all times, acting as the gatekeeper to quality improvements and maintenance. This will require you to challenge the status quo and achieve lasting change in processes. To achieve this, you will need to have a solid understanding of Data Governance principles.
You will be a go-to expert on all of Escoe’s data resources and tools whilst promoting data-driven decision-making throughout the business.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret business insights requirements through agile user story techniques to deliver value to the business through our data platform
- Support the development and enhancement of our data platform by working closely with our Data Engineer on the end to end ETL. You will be expected to contribute to development through data modelling and architecting, as well as some lightweight hands-on development and support.
- Prepare and utilise data governance reporting, aimed at improving data quality throughout the business. Liaise with data owners and other data stewards to communicate and enforce data quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service to our stakeholders through business partnering, communication and your strong ability to translate technical language to non-technical audiences.
- Own the development and maintenance of our centrally managed Power BI data models, reports, dashboards and apps.
- Manage workload from various projects simultaneously with great attention to detail, flexibility and an understanding of impact of change in a fast paced business environment. You will need to build up an excellent understanding of how our business works and how data can help us grow.
- Be an advocate of our data strategy, supporting the business with data literacy and technical training.
Minimum Requirements:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI, and other tools in the Azure ecosystem. Direct experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, ADF and AzureSQL is a bonus.
- Strong experience working with SQL and Python to transform, manage and analyse data.
- Good understanding of data warehousing and data management principles and the technical capacity to aid in the growth and development of a data platform
- Strong understanding of Data Governance principles coupled with excellent documentation skills
- Experience of working with ERP and/or CRM systems (preferable Workday and Salesforce) would be a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD and working in a source-controlled environment is a plus
- Experience working in an Agile environment
