Data Reconciliation Assistant (College Student Internship)
Location: Middleton, WI

Job Purpose

Are you a detail-oriented college student with a passion for data accuracy and problem-solving? We are seeking a Data Reconciliation Assistant to join our team in Middleton, WI, on a part-time basis (10-15 hours per week). In this role, you will help ensure data integrity in our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and SAP systems by reconciling and validating data from a prior migration project. Collaborating closely with our Data Governance and IT teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience with enterprise systems and data governance processes, making a real impact on data quality and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Data Reconciliation & Validation:

  • Compare data between PLM and SAP systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Identify discrepancies such as missing, duplicate, or incorrect records and flag them for resolution.
  • Utilize predefined validation rules and tools to streamline the reconciliation process.

Data Quality Monitoring:

  • Assist in implementing quality checks to validate data alignment.
  • Document findings, including recurring issues or patterns, for further analysis.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate logs of reconciled data, discrepancies, and resolutions.
  • Prepare summary reports on reconciliation progress for review by project managers.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with the Data Governance Manager, IT staff, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on data validation efforts.
  • Attend regular check-ins to discuss progress and receive guidance.

Education

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program, preferably in

Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of data management principles.
  • Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets (e.g., formulas, sorting, filtering).
  • Knowledge of enterprise systems (PLM, SAP) is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
